Just curious how many of you have at least two identical models? Lately, whenever I buy a new Spydie, I always get at least two. Post some pics of your duplicates/multiples. These are the only ones I've got that have identical twins. Idea came from recent threads where someone had a handful of Delicas and one fella with a bunch of Natives. Couldn't decide on whether to post here or in the pictures forum, oh well.

I generally have at least one spare of the models I carry. I do try to avoid "duplicates" of models I don't ever use. Of course "variants" aren't "duplicates" in a collector's mind. ;) :D

I only have one o each knife. Even if one I had got damaged, broken, or lost I doubt I'd buy it a second time. I'm weird like that.

Wonderful photos, Spyharpy. Very well lit. Part of what makes your photos excellent is that you chose a background that doesn't detract. Nice job. Never felt the desire for a harpy before, but your photos have caused some feeling of need that I didn't know I had...

Doublets for me include:
Manix
Caly3 VG-10
Caly3 ZDP
CalyJr ZDP
UK Pen (...are we seeing a pattern here?)
Small Persian
Yojimbo
...the Stretch2 is very much on the radar.

Like Deacon, if I like the knife and use it, I need one "in reserve" to be happy. I have a history of losing (or giving away) knives...so I NEED duplicates...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I only have doubles of the following:

Para-Military
Delica 4 FRN

I don't know if mine are really considered doubles or not. My Para's are not identical. One has a black blade and one is satin. Same with my Delica's. Some are PE, some are SE, and some are different colors. :)

I guess I just have multiple variations of the Para and the Delica. Not doulbles. :)

Now I know where all the black bladed PE Natives went. They went to Spyharpy. :D

G-10 Delicas

You almost hurt me there;) , I believe these are actually G-10 Standards, not G-10 Delicas correct? If they are actually Delicas, I'd really like the details behind them.

Very nice collection BTW.

They most certainly are. ;) :)

I don't have any exact duplicates, but I do have two SE Para-Militaries (one black, one satin) and three different Delicas.

My Dear Friends,

For a number of years I had a double for every blade I carried. Difficult financial situations made it impossible for me to continue to do so and ultimately deleted most of the doubled "safe queens" in my possession.

Since then I have refocused a bit. :D I don't have ANY doubles at this time, save for one or two variants on the Harpy (a Doctor has to have some limits, after all). I decided that I would rather have a large cross-section of user blades from which to choose than to have a smaller number of carry blades with their doubles locked away in a safe.

Guess I am not much of a collector, hmm?

This does bring forth another problem - which blade to carry on a particular day? I am finding myself torn between several of my favorite blades each morning (and unlike our esteemed Dr. Snubnose I can't carry my entire collection at once :p ). So of late by the time I leave the house I and usually carrying a knife in each pocket and a couple in my Victorinox travel bag.

Ah, such difficult decisions...

I have multiples of EDC blades since 3 people in my family carry the same knife for work. My wife, my sister, and I all carry D4s, so I have several of them in PE. When the G-10 versions come out, I'll have several more as well.

I also have several mini-Grips since I carry one of those along with my D4, but they're all different steel variants.

My take on doubles goes like this; A knife like the Dodo SE or Endura 1 FRN SE have been disco'ed and are a knife I carry on a regular basis and most importantly are knives that I can get currently at a reasonable price, I get one (or two:o ) for back up. Not as a safe queen, a backup for the time my current user needs a trip to the spa, or eventually gets worn out:eek: .
I have been known for selling any multiples of a knife off later If decide that model doesn't "work" for me anymore (ala Caly Jr. Micarta and FRN).
Current models are one only, unless it gets offered in a newer steel and a handle color other than black. So them's the guidelines, oh and money, don't seem to have much of that around now a days.
Cheers,
Rob

Hey guys...this is an interesting thread. Aside from my collection of variants in the Kopa and Native. I received this care package in the mail today :D

3 S/S Dragonfly's - 2 which I promptly took to the engravers for some laser surgery to be gifted to friends. 1 left nude for my own self :p

These are my only Dragonflys and it looks like they have won me over. I'll be making orders for variants of these great little buggers :p

I use to have a few. Now the only duplicate I have is a NIB Pegasus.
The last one I had was a NIB Shabaria, but I traded it off a few months ago.
