Does anyone have a real (non-stock photo) picture of a C41 Native with a CPM440V blade and no Boye dent? I'm told that many were produced in this variety, but of all the 440Vs I've seen so far, all have had the dent. Anybody got one without?

I don't have an image (or camera) handy but I do have a CE Native in CPM 440V without the dent. I also have two blue G-10 Natives, both in CPM 440V, both without the dent.
IIRC production of the Native started significantly before the introduction of the dent.

It's good to know that they do indeed existing without the dent, and I'm glad to have some actual confirmation of that fact. For some reason I can't figure out, the 440V Natives seem to be a bit tought to find (dented on not). I can find lots of GIN-1 blades, but have only come across one with 440V and that was a combo edge. Still looking for a plain edge one.
I have one of these. Maybe I could get a pic for you later tonight...
If you don't mind reducing the life of the blade a bit, you could always use a diamond file to take off the serrations.. that's what I did, since the serrations were chipped up pretty badly when I found it (and I didn't want them anyway.. I prefer PE).

I don't think I'd want to take a file to my CE 440V Native. It's in my collection and I was looking for a PE to accompany it.
I used to be a PE-only guy too - until I actually bought and tried a serrated blade. Now I like the serrated as much as the plain edge. Once you have a ProFile sharpening set, keeping those serrated edges in tip-top shape is a breeze.
Oh, you're a collector. Well, serrations might be nice on the right knife or for the right job, but I don't have much call for them, and the Native's too small for CE, IMHO. Anyway, here's the pic I promised:

If you think the blade looks a bit funny, you're right.. it's pretty scraped up from the filing I did on it and at the moment it's caked with dried blackberry vine juice. The sharp part is still sharp, though... :p

I'm a collector of Natives, but I'm also a user of them too. I have two that I carry every day and a few others in the rotation for other occasions. There's nothing I love to see more than a hard-working Native, so I really enjoyed that pic. That's exactly what Sal designed them to do, and I honestly believe that Natives are happiest when they are working hard.

I have one NIB SE, but I don't have a digital camera.
