I have both. It's a constant struggle to decide which to carry.

I am now carrying the Cricket at the office, because it's a bit smaller, and the Dragonfly on weekends.

For those of you who have both the Cricket and Dragonfly, how have you resolved the dilemma?

Exact same dilemma here!
I carry the Cricket the most.
Well, I guess I should start carrying them both?

Ted,

How did you get your blade blacked?

Mattress,
I bought it like this approx one year ago from the Knifecenter. They had a very limited supply.
At first I thought it was done by Spyderco, but later I found out it was done 'aftermarket'.
The coating holds very well and I really like the knife.

Blackened blades scream "tactical," and these days that's bad. I'll stick with regular, polished blades, thank you.

Although I've had my Cricket since March, and the dragonfly only since august 20th, I carry the SS Dragonfly more. I find the shape and size great for EDC along with a "larger"(3" range) one(and the multi-tool.

right now I'm light... got home and haven't done anything...

SS Dragonfly, plain, IWB
Calypso jr lt, plain, R/F
Multi-tool, right hip/back

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Hmmm... I am starting to consider the SS Dragonfly for another pocket or maybe a "starter" present for my husband to get him hooked on Spydies. I want a small serrated knife (aside from the Cricket, or course) since I already have my non-serrated Mouse. Personally, I do not like the lightweight Dragonfly due to the non-metal clip. This thread has shed more light on this knife for me.

Kahz,

The stainless Dragonfly is the most elegant of the small Spydies and makes a perfect &quot;gentleman's knife.&quot; It would make an excellent gift for your partner, that is if you can't find a carbon fibre one for him <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>.

i think that most people would perceive a black blade as ment to be &quot;more tactical&quot; or military because the coloring would try to conceil it, one does not see the the light glint off the blade especially at night.

I love the fact that the black-coated blades can be so concealable. I use it as a self-defense or would use it since I've never had to use it.....I guess that's why I carry it. Where are any Spydies available with this type of coating? Anyone?
