Well, I guess that I share the "storage problem" with some others collectors and I was asked to show my idea.
The challange was: low priced, easy to do and space saving

I will show you how I solved it:

First step - some empty wooden boxes

Second step - some pieces of ply wood I trimmed to the inner dimensions of the boxes, drilled holes for dowels and glued the dowels on the boards. To protect the knives from scratches I used black felting. A priceless advantage is the Spyderhole :D

Holding capacity of each box depends on the knives (in average 4-6 boards)

All my boxes (note all boards are not jam-packed ;) )

Peter,

That's exactly what I was looking for. I think that I may just make a small board with dowels and hang it on the wall for my "EDC" items.

Thanks very much for sharing that idea. I love it!!

Peter, I love your "parking garage's" for your Spydies. I will have to come up with the materials and make some of my own.
I am concerned with one knife that I feel is really out of place in your photo's and I feel it's best if you would go ahead and send it to me. It's the blue G-10 Native. :D ;) :o

Good question! :spyder: models I know inside out but my family don't. As next step I plan to fix a model-badge on the knives. Actually I still prefer to play with the knives instead of the boxes ;) (just kidding).

The empty original boxes are stored in cardboard boxes in the cellar.

Very nice work Peter! What are your plans for staining and finishing the exteriors?

Paul, I've painted the boxes, nothing else.
