hello all - my family and I are planning a trip to the grand canyon next summer, complete with multiple side trips along the way. One of the trips unanimously agreed on is the outlet store in CO. Essentially, having never been there before, I was looking for some basic info.
1.) hours, days, ect
2.) Selection/prices
3.) size - how long should we plan on being there?
Thanks to all those who respond - cant wait for next summer!

Hello cjgrad23,
1.) Business hours for the SFO are: Mon-Fri 10-6
Sat 10-5
2.) Selection is good. Most of the current models are available.
Prices are a little higher than on the web, but you can handle any
knife, take your time to compare models, ask for expert advice.....
3.) Store size: You can get through it in 5 minutes or spend several hours,
it all depends on your love of knives.

way cool - when you say prices are higher than on the web, are you referring to the online catalog or what I could score a knife for from someplace like Ebay?

I believe he is refering to places like New Graham, Knives Plus, Grand Prairie, etc. that retail over the internet at discounted prices. The SFO prices are closer to MSRP to prevent unfair competition against other Spyderco dealers. After all, there aren't any middlemen and freight is a lot less when you are next door to the factory, so it wouldn't be fair to their dealers if Spyderco sold direct to the public at the same prices they sell to dealers and distributors.

cjgrad23, I posted this thread (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483456) on BladeForums about my recent first trip to the Spydie Outlet. Others who contributed to the thread provided lots of great insights -- you'll find detailed directions and such in that thread, too.
