Greetings All,

I really like the P'kal --- in fact, I got two. But I'd prefer a lower-riding, more discreet clip. Looking over the Spyderco models with wire clips, it seems that substituting the clip from the discountinued Meerkat would be the way to go.

Any opinions on this modification? Any suggestions for procuring a couple of these clips?

Thanks in advance!

RetractableI don't know if those would work, but I'd suggest contacting Spyderco via the contact info available on the website to ask if they still have some in stock...never hurts to ask.

Lowrider clips are a hindrance to a fast draw, but I think you know that.
Ask Spyderco - otherwise (IMHO) there is not too big chance of procuring two clips any other way than buying two Meerkats and make them clipless...

The method by which the Meerkat and P'kal clips are attached to their respective knives is completely different. Best bet for a low ride clip would be the one for the UKPK. Very low ride, same method of attachment, and still in production.

ask STR i know he has sales of left over parts after he modifies knives for some of his clients. if not i'm sure he could build you one.

I use a low rider Caly III clip on my P'kal and I couldn't be more pleased  :D

I received two Caly-3 clips from Spyderco CS yesterday --- they fit perfectly on my P'Kals. I am quite pleased.
