I tried to post a reply to my earlier post, but I kept getting a error message. Anyway here is my reply.

Hello Clay, thanks for the kind words. Sal and I have kind of touched on that subject, but nothing serious.

That knife is the first 2 1/2" I've made with the Spyderco hole. I liked the feel and

looks so much I made another one. This one has a flat ground blade instead of hollow ground and I have put on Titanium bolsters and blue G10 scales.

Blades, the scales do look lime green, but the official name is lt. green.

Stay Safe,

A.T.

Mr. Barr,
What ever color you call it, I like it. It gets away from the "tactical, SWAT, covert, ninja, subdued" black.
Is the clip tip up or down, and does it ride low in the pocket or high? Just wondering. That's one thing I like about my Pegasus. It has a low clip profile. It fits great in my "watch/coin" pocket on my jeans, and my suit coat pocket for church.

Well A.T. you just discovered one of the little quirks of this forum software . Your replies did go through. I've learnt to ignore 'error mesages' and check the original thread, the post always seems to be there anyway.

I really liked the knife in the photo but the second one you describe has me drooling all over the keyboard. Flat ground blade, bolsters and blue G10, what a fantastic mix. That's the knife I'd like to see as the basis for a collaboration. I have a reputation as a troublemaker around here but I've been quiet for a while. Might be time to start stirring again .

Mr. Barr:

I especially like your use of smooth, shaped G10. Gives it a look similar to polished Micarta. I think the obsession with the texture this material can provide has caused some of its potential uses to be overlooked. Kudos!

Can we see a pic of the bolstered version?

BTW, what size blade hole are you using? In my (limited) experience 12mm is about optimal for most folders from 2" up, though big "field" folders benefit from large 14mm holes since they enable you to use them with gloves on. The C48 Wegner collaboration folder had an 11mm hole and opening it never felt secure.

Clay,

It is your turn to start trouble. I started trouble over those balisongs (still in development), so you'll have to take this one.

i went to your home page. and i thought the knives looked amazing. i hope one day to have the money to get a A.T.Barr custom. but maybe clay can start trouble and push for a collaboration, for now.

Blades, the clip on this one is point down. That's what I prefer, but I'll do the clip either way. The knife rides very low in the pocket, so the "sheeple" don't get scared.

Carlos, I'll post a picture when I complete the blue one. The hole is just less than 13mm.

Blades and Carlos, please call me A.T.

Stay Safe,
A.T.
