Just got a couple boxes of American ammunition .380 and .40
http://www.a-merc.com/
This stuff is the worst crap I have ever seen.I have not fired any of it yet but I heard that the local indoor range will not allow it because of so many jams, duds and squib loads.I will try to shoot it up to get rid of it but not to sure I should do that.Heres what the ammo looks like straight out of the box.
Most are not this bad but would you feel safe shooting brand new ammo that looks like this?

I have been hearing through several sources that there is a real problem with ammo production and the prices going through the roof everywhere. Even some of the Police Departments are complaining that they have an Ammo shortage>> I don't believe that at all but I do find it interesting that they would claim such a thing.
We have one of the biggest Military Ammunition plants in the world within 8 miles of where I'm living. It is called the LAKE CITY Ammunition plant. They have been going full throttle on their production for the past 2 years. I know 2 people who work there and they are working a lot of hours.
So with that being said I don't think any case can be made that there is really a bonafide shortage as much as there might be some hidden government controls being implemented. You can call me a conspiracy nut if you like but the proof is there for everyone to see first hand. There is something strange going on with Military and Civilian ammo both as far as availability goes and not to mention the skyrocketing prices I'm hearing about. Along with Jeff's account of very poor quality to boot :( Be interesting to know the origin of that stuff he shows in that picture>> Bejhing Maybe??

That looks like an evening with a bullet puller to me. There is no way on earth I would fire that in anything I own. I'm not sure I'd shoot it with a stolen gun.

I wouldn't put anything like that through my Glock.
It would be going straight back to the store for a full refund. Don't take any chances with crappy ammo. Throw it in the trash if they won't take it back. Your life is worth way more than what the stuff cost.

I am not going to fire it.The Glock 22 might fire it but I don't think I want to chance putting it through the Sig.
I just read about the .223 welding casings to the chamber.
Its not that cheap,I took them in trade from a dealer at a gun show and his price on them was about the same as Winchester.
I dumped 50 rds of it in with 400 rds of Winchester in a ammo can,off to dig it out.

If you don't have a bullet puller, that looks like a great excuse to buy one. Or ask the range if you could borrow one?
Or if you have to fire them, be extra sure to wear eye protection.
WOW, that is some sad looking ammo indeed! I would not shoot that in anything! Where is all of the ammo going? As already stated, it is pretty expensive. I need more but can hardly afford any. Is this a method to take it away?

DO NOT USE THAT JUNK or ANY of its components. A-merc has been around for a while and is not highly regarded in the firearms community as a whole.
The have a rep of dubious quality control and is considered "gang banger" ammo as it is usually the cheapest thing on the shelf in a gunshop. I refuse to carry it at all. I have had to drive 3 bullets out of 3 different guns in 3 calibers due to this junk.
Dump it.
