Hannibal Lecter

My Dear Friends,
Since beginning to train with KaliGman and seeing what a karambit is capable of in experienced hands I have become positively obsessed with the things. On my ½ hour commute to work every day, the time is spent spinning a trainer with the off-hand, practicing every technique I can think of. I realize that such practice is purely edged-tool calisthenics, but they do familiarize me with my weapon of choice, hopefully making it less likely that I lacerate myself when more intense training gets underway.
Some of you might recall my recent mention of considering conversion of a Tasman Salt (or other similar Spyderco hawkbill) to a karambit. That project should start very soon, but in the interim another somewhat easier project has reared its ugly head. I managed to obtain a NIB blue Dodo from another individual and am about to embark on another journey - yes, you guessed it - the conversion of a Spyderco Dodo to a karambit (Dodorambit?). I have always thought that the Dodo would lend itself well to that usage and now have the chance to test my theory.
(For those who cringe at the thought of such a conversion, I am replacing the factory G-10 scales with different ones and no internal parts will be modified, at least not at this time. The finished product will be able to be returned to pristine form should the test ultimately not work out to my satisfaction.)
The new scales will be dark forest green G-10. Finger ring will be closer in internal diameter to that of the Emerson Combat Karambit to lessen oscillation during spins. There will *certainly* be a zip-tie through the Spyderhole. :D
I can hardly wait to begin! I'll keep you all posted, and will take pics of the conversion throughout.
