Any steel change plans?

I have heard some people talking about VG-10 spydies. I am wondering why spyderco doesn't consider BG-42, which I think is also a great material for knives. And does spyderco have any plan to change the blade steel of some models like police, chinook, and lum tanto?

Hi Golem. We have BG-42 on hand. Have plans for a few models for testing.

The Police and Lum folding Tanto will go to VG-10. The Chinook is using CPM-440V. We're currently testing the Chinook with VG-10, but there are no plans for a steel change at this time.

<dreaming of a BG-42 Endura> Sounds great! Spyders already use premium steel, but this expands the palette a bit.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Do you have a time table for these types? how many months I need to wait for a VG-10 tanto and VG-10 Chinook?
And will the VG-10 Tanto have a Ti handle?
