Shhhh... people... if we would all get together, we would be able to take Doc by force... uh, scratch that... oh yes, we would be able to hire several professional gunmen to take Doc out with a long-range rifle shot... one of them would succeed, maybe. Then we can take his knives!
Enjoy, Doc, and report back :)!

Unfortunately Stenny I believe your plan is destined for failure. You may want to try asking nicely and if that fails try begging and pleading. :D

Well I'll give you some hints...I have knives coming from...Spyderco (of course) Cold Steel, Kershaw, Ontario, Boker, Columbia River, Schrade, Colt and Hibben in all fairness to these companies I only want to mention the individual knives that I feel have merit....so I'll get back to you as soon as I know anything....Doc:D

Tony: I don't do lotto...it's the only thing with six balls that I know of that used to screw me twice a week:eek:

Mat: No MTP in this order but I patiently wait on Boker who is posed to send me one for testing.....Can't wait!

Stenny: I'll be watching you....LOL

Sounds exciting Doc, congrats on whatever got you to buy 25 knives. You WILL have pics, right? If you don't post them, I'll tell everyone you're lying:D. Or I'll beg and plead until you do as was suggested.

Stop mashing the buttons with your spear, that is the first step to technology nirvana.

Enjoy Doc., give us a couple of review lines then, so we know what you like and what not. :D

Just received a Spyderco PE Dodo black and a CRKT Ringer hawkbill two days ago. Like them both, Dodo is GRRREAT knife.

Can't wait to hear your comments on them Doc.

Would by chance one of the CRKT's be the Hissatsu folder?

Already got one of them Ghost...what do you want to know?...Doc:DJust taking a guess Doc, although I am always interested in your impressions on such matters. I'm actually fortunate that my local is a fan of that particular design, so I've been able to play with one myself.

Ghost:
My Impressions of the Hissatsu folder are not that favorable....The knife should have been a Fixed blade....wait! it is and is 100 times better overall. Though the folder does have ample handle for grip it's just not great for different grip positions and I worry about slipping off it on thrusting movements onto the blade as the slight swell in the handle jusy isn't enough to stop that from happening. The blade is nice but very small compared to the fixed blade....the power assist is tough to start...downright sticky if you ask me but once engaged it snaps open with authority....that being said the wheel studs are hard to locate and manipulate under pressure. My vote would go to the fixed blade Hissatsu which is an magnificient piece....Good try Columbia River but the folder gets a thumbs down for SD carry from me.....there are much much better knives for SD in that price range...Doc:D

If you are legally able to, go with the fixed blade Hissatsu. It is a heck of a design for the $$$! Doc looking forward to hearing your reviews on the other models that you ordered. Take care knifebro and be safe! Oh and I am sure you have a place for all 25 don't you?LOL!:D

I would love to see someone carry and use a Hissatsu as an utility piece... may match the looks I got when cutting bread with machete :D

So a couple came in today...here are some of my first impressions...

Boker: "The Agent" nice little knife.... comfy handle... carson flipper, nice spearpoint blade....on the minus side...I don't think it will hold up to heavy or even moderate use.

Two FB Knives from Ontario: "Spec" 1)Drop point hunter and 2) Tactical model: (I forget the model numbers but will post them tommorrow as I left the knives at work) Nicely done and finished... Micarta handles....Fit and finish is excellent for the price point...both make for nice fixed blades of moderate blade lenght...looks like they are up to the task. The Tactical Model is a little beefy in the handle but still comfy and has some weight to it.

CRTK: "The Zilla" a tool to compete with the leathermans...Has a pliers on a spring (nice touch) only the spring is a weak one...two screwdriver bits that slip into the back end (too hard to remove from the body of the zilla)...a small combo edge knife built in...opened by a carson flipper....The handle is hefty and beefy which on one hand gives you something to hold onto (a plus) but overall the the tool is too heavy (comes with a belt pouch) and most ugly...leatherman has not to worry IMHO....

Schrade: A little pocket knife with 3 blades very pretty turquoise and lapis handle....never been a big fan of slipjoints but this knife is well made and finished well, I like it..though a little pricey....

Also from Schrade a Tactical Folder Power Assist...The plastic like handles are comfy because of multiple finger grooves...but made from crap...the safety lock is another crappy device and the power assist is real junk...overall a knife not to waste one's money on.

Kershaw: The Ken Onion Designed Echo in Cameo....Nice feel, the cameo coating is peeling right of the handle (not a good thing) Recurve blade is plenty big and the handle shape is comfy in all grip positions...the sheath not worth mentioning:eek: Small jimping, more than enough on the top of the spine for the thumb to rest and is well done...I still like it even though it has some minor defects...I think it will make a good field knife or even SD tool with a custom sheath of kydex if one were to have it made up...

Cold Steel "Urban Pal" Cute little push dagger with a rubber T handle and serrated blade...If it was all I had for SD I think I'd rather run...but it still cute...more of a novelty than anything else....and did I mention it's so cute....that said I'd still prefer a Ladybug to it.....

More to come....Doc:D

Sorry to hear you got a bad one. Schrades are my first love in the knife world, but I will not waste my time on the new Taylor "Schrades." Taking a great American cutlery brand to China has really brought a huge drop in quality IMO. I still have a place in my collection for good 'ol American Schrades.

Keep us posted as the rest of your haul comes in.
