So it seems like the Paramilitary is a fairly popular knife. It's my favorite for EDC. Why do you think we haven't seen any variations of it? So many others get variations, and the long-timers like the military, native, delica, and endura have had numerous. I would think there are a lot of people that would love to see something different for the para.

We have new version coming soon (Feb 2008? maybe..? don’t quote me on that just, guessing). Foliage Green G-10 and D2 steel. That will be a sweet variation. Not so much for the blade, but I love that G-10.

I thought i remembered sal saying that they were going to address the hand eating corner on the blade when closed.

I'm not sure what the issue is with the corner, I don't have any problems with it.
I'd love to see a CF version of the Para with S90V/D2 or BG42- any of them would do.

Tip up would be great. I'd really like to see a CF version of some kind as well.

If, or rather, when, the revised Para Military is released, could it please have a new name? "Para Military" brings up a few too many negative images of bozos in camo running through the woods playing soldier, at least in my mind.
This great knife deserves a better image.

A Para-Military in BG-42 would be outstanding!

If you don't wear tactical black from head to toe and if your tactical weapons aren't tactical black, you're not a real tactical operator! I mean, come on! If you don't wear tactical boots, tactical socks, tactical timepieces, tactical gloves, tactical-black underwear, and utilize a tactical pant suspension system (what less sophisticated people refer to as a ''belt'') to suspend your tactical pants, well, you're a crappy tactical operater! Oh, and don't forget the tactical facial-glare suppression system (referred to by less sophisticated people as "face paint").
In all seriousness, now, I think to us knife people, the name is fine. For NKP and just touchy-feely, ignorant sheeple in general, well, maybe it's not such a good name. However, I can't see the (revised) Para getting a new name, in all honesty.
You do have a valid point, however.

I think we're pretty much on the same page. I guess I'm being overly cautious and thinking in terms of, God forbid, sitting in a courtroom at the defendant's table as the prosecuter displays "this Para Military knife" to the jury. It's not like it was named "Decapitator 9000", but Spyderco names tend to be very benign, and like it or not, "Para Military" does have a somewhat negative connotation to many.
I agree, too, that the revised Para would probably not be renamed. Something like "Para 2" is the most I would expect.
