So many wonderful photographs of so many wonderful blades. I thought I'd add my own meagre collection to the boards.
Been collecting for about a year. My current passion in the :spyder: line are the Kopa, Native (the one that got me started !), Persians, well.... and possibly a few more.
Here they are in no particular order. I hope that these photos will make some people buy more Spyderco's, just like all your photos have done the same for me :D
Enjoy
Dan

Weird little bugger. I haven't used this one, but I can imagine with the S blade it would be a great box cutter. The handle is one of the most comfortable I have felt. Very ergonomic with deep choils it just seems to fit in the hands like a glove :D
Wire clipit and ball lock finish the package very nicely.

Continuing on the blue theme. Here is one of the blades that has surprised me the most. An excellent blade that looks absolutely deadly should it be deployed and used to full potential.
With one of the weirdest looking handles, I assumed it would be uncomfortable and dismissed it....until I actually bought this knife. Surprisingly comfortable in the hand, and about the right size for me for use in SD situations.
Indexing divots positively position the knife in your hands, and the compression lock is rock solid !

Lava
One of the best small blades I've handled. It seems a lot larger than it actually is. The grip is the surest for a stainless steel handle, due mainly to the deep choils and curved belly at the end of the handle.

Endura - S/S and Waved
Beautifully crafted traditional Spyderco. Large blade, large handle generally good all-round knife.
Stainless Steel version is gleamingly solid. Very nice tight F&F, and a solid weighty heft makes it a classy piece. Very elegant that takes especially well to engraving.
Waved version is sur[risingly light, thanks to the FRN handles. Great waved feature deploys the blade very quickly in any given situation. I like the Grey/ green colour very much.

This little bugger was what got me hooked on Spyderco. My first and still my constant carry even here in our strictly controlled EDC knife rules. Partly because it is so tiny a keychain knife and socialy acceptable enough, annd partly due to the fact that this small knife is very capable.

UKPK & DKPK
The UK Pen Knife and the Denmark Pen Knife. Two slipjoint blades (non-locking) with a very solid detent....possibly too solid as it makes me uneasy when closing the things ! I'm sure with some use they would loosen up slightly to make it more enjoyable.
These 2 are a variation on the Caly III, both with G10 handles, but with CPMS30V bladesteel rather than the CalyIII's VG10. The most visually obvious trait that the DKPK has over the UKPK is the chamfered Spyderhole, which makes opening it safely one handed quite difficult (but not impossible). Spyderdrop on the DKPK sorts out the one-handed opening once you get a good grip on the chamfered hole.

Native I Blue Mosaic & Root Beer inlays
Classic Native I folder pimped up with G10 handles and inlays of Root Beer (CE blade config), and Blue Mosaic (PE blade config)
These 2 look really good with decent light. The depth of the inlays really shine and from different angles they look totally different.
Root Beer inlay goes from a flat brown colour to a holographic orange shimmer. Similarly the Blue Mosaic one goes from a flattish blue/ black colour to an almost azure-like blue shell.

Thanks for your support. You would have to agree with me that in terms of Natives, these 2 inlaid ones are probably the 'prettiest' of them all.
I really like the Root Beer (mkes me thirsty too :p), but the Blue Mosaic is also very nice. I was hoping Spyderco/ Sal would commission somone to do a Green/ Paua inlay..... Now that would be a really awesome piece :)

One of the best small blades I've handled. It seems a lot larger than it actually is. The grip is the surest for a stainless steel handle, due mainly to the deep choils and curved belly at the end of the handle.

Of course. Gimme some time and I will reshoot it in better lighting conditions. As I am awaiting a couple of more rarer Natives, I might hold off and do them a ll at once ;)

Hi Zenith,
If you go back to Page 1 of this thread you can see the obvious visual differences.
Native I - flatter FRN handles, came in PE and SE as well as plain and black baldes. Black PE version rare. Clips were black and flat. Bladesteel CPMS30V
Native II - like the Native I, except with Stainless Steel handles. Came in PE and SE. PE version rare. Clips flat like Native I's. Bladesteel is AUS10 and VG10.
Native III - More contoured handles...fatter and more chamfered. Sometimes called Native 3D for that reason. Comes in PE & SE. Clips are the newer wire clips. Bladesteel in VG10 (made in Seki City Japan)
Special Natives include the Tan coloured ones (OEF & OIF), Blue G10 version, Blue FRN version, Black G10 with Root Beer inlay, Black G10 with Blue Mosaic inlay, Spyder web etched version, and a couple of others.

Black Beauties:
C41 - Native I - black bladed versions in PE and CE
You will note from this picture as well as the group photo of my Natives on Page 1 that All the C41 (Native I & II) PE blades do not have the Spyder Bug logo on the blade. Curiously only the CE blades have the bug logo on them ???
The Native III has bugs on the PE & CE blades. The bugless ones seem almost naked without one.

Native II is essentially a Native I with stainless stell outergarments ;)
Black CE Native I is a great blade. Teeth are very aggresive.

Managed to discover and acquire this very unique piece from Spyderco's golden years. Eduard Bradichinsky's awesomely weird design, and Spyderco's proclaimed first 'ethnic' knife. Very unusual and not to everyone's taste. It is surprisingly comfortable in the hand in most grip styles.

Lum Chinese Folder - green almite PE
Did I mention I like the flowing lines of certain Spyderco's ? This Lum Chinese Folder definitely falls in that category ofsmooth flowing lines. Closed or open it just seems to ooze a nice gentle and calm feeling. Once again this design is not seen by many as being contemporary enough for EDC.
I like it a lot, and for photography, it makes a very good subject :)

Volpe
Fox Cutlery & Spyderco have come up with a very solidly manufactured blade. Interesting blade design, framelock, s/s handles with olivewood inlays, all screw contruction.
One of my favourite details is the laser cutout of the Spyderbug logo in the reverse side of the blade. Being a framelock, the cutout shows up the internals of the knife very nicely :p

Beautiful pictures Dan. Thank you.
This knife is gorgeous. I love this wood inserts, FFG, very nit bug cutout on the clip side and laser etch on the blade. It would be great to have finger choil. Probably this is the only feature, which I am missing. Unbelievable fit & finish.

Thanks for your kinds words Starling & Roman :)
Yes Starling....I like the cutout very much. The minor but well executed details in this knife make it a very fine unit.
I think the Volpe would benefit (if it weren't disco'd :( ) from the addition of some fine jimping or a slightly elongated lock release or a bit more of a cutout where the release is located. Very slippery purchase on the lock for me which = dangerous. A forefinger choil deep into the blade would be very neat indeed Roman. The tolerances are very tight on this knife.
I would seriously encourage those who do not own this knife to at least go out and handle it. Aside from a few of my minor niggles listed above I think this is one very beautifully crafted piece of art :)

Beautiful classically early Spyderco. Wonderfully constructed vintage Spyderco, still smooth as ! Opens with a comforting "click".
A surprisingly large and pointy blade and a departure from my normal ...which is the smaller folders with leaf blades.

Spyderco Ramco Laguiole PE
Not many words needed here. What can I say.... classic knife design, lovely details, a bit grubby in some parts due to lack of maintenance. I haven't bothered to clean it up yet before taking these shots. Will see to it that this thing gets as much of a clean and polish as I am able to with a toothpick and oil. Maybe even get some brasso to the brass pins, brass screw and brass liners.
Enjoy :p

Nope :( You got me guys....either I'm stupid or I just can't find these hidden treasures/ easter eggs :o
All I can see when looking inside the frame is funny shaped cutouts, and when looking through the Spyder cutout I can faintly see my eye staring back at me !

hey Dan,
this must be one of the bigger perpetuated rumors i've seen on the forums.... hidden easter eggs inside the Volpe's handle .... :p
Excellent Laguiole pix.....I enjoyed your aloevera?pix with that beauty....great bee closeups ...

Wow Dan
You really are building up a nice collection of great knives.
The Ramco is a beauty isn't it? and I now have a new addition to my must get list after looking at your photo's of the Renegade. Looks like an awesome knife.
Your photo's are really inspiring me to get the camera out and start aiming at my little brood :D

Ok Dan, you noticed "other" cutouts inside the handle, under the scales. Think of what Volpe means in Italian, and the name of the company that makes it for Spyderco. Now look really carefully at the cutout behind the one scale and see if it reminds you of anything. You may have to twist and squint a bit. The other is a bit simpler, just a mirror fiinshed spot positioned behind the bug cutout. I thought they were neat little touches when I spotted them, but I'm easily amused at times.
Special congrats on nailing the PE Laguiole, that's not an easy catch.

Thanks for the info Paul,
I thought it was curious to see a faint reflcetion of my eye through the SPyder cutout as usually they aren't that well polished. OK, I see a caricature of a foxy shape in the cutout now...... thought it had to be something to do with Fox Cutlery.
Cheers bro. The more I handle it the more I like the olive wood. The fit and finish on the Volpe is one of the most fabulous I have experienced in a production folder. Fox and Spyderco have done an exemplary job and it is a pity that now I have it the model is being disco'd :(
Would love to see some olive wood on a Native II actually. That would be a sexy beast ! :p
Brian, tis indeed one of my Aloe Vera plants in my front garden bed. The make excellent subjects for photos, along with some of my other ones with purple foliage :)

Thanks again Paul. Actually this one was a serendipitous find :D Quite by accident this Laguiole and the Renegade. Must have driven past this shop a fair number of times over the last few years. But, I suppose I only started my fascination with knives in the last 12 mths.
The guy has some very long ago discontinued blades. He is asking a fair bit for each one though as he understands their collector value. Though he is going off paper research and seemingly not connected to the internet. This PE Laguiole is indeed a rare one. However he did not have a box or a sheath for it. I will be doing a bit of maintenance on it just to get it nice and sparkling again as much as I am able to. The brass accents would look great polished up. But I don't want to damage the surroundings.
The dude has other blades which interest me, but the prices are

Hey there Rob !
I was just reading one of your posts on another forum ;)
This is only my second CF handled blade. I really like this glossy CF version. Quite classy feel IMHO. I've had the CF Military and the matt finish on that is quite nice too. Not sure if I've seen a 'rough CF' version anywhere.
Cheers
Dan
Maybe rough is not quite the right term. I guess "textured" would be more accurate. I meant the kind of CF that Spyderco put on the Caly III for example. That stuff that almost looks like G-10. Ah, I better stop talking  At this time of the day my English is more gibberish than something with a meaning :o
But I agree: glossy = classy :D

Welcome in the club of shiny carbon holders ; shiny carbon is the most beautiful carbon variation IMO, a bit slippery in wet use, but beautiful. Hope you enjoy it :D

That bring me to the question what is usual or unusual. As for srews, carbon is not the best counterpart, it's better to have a steelliner as counterpart. Even the tiny Ladybug carbon has a single liner :)

Servus Peter,
Yeah I gathered it would've been the CF that made it the case. I didn't check my CF Military to see if that was the same...IIRC I think it was not the same.
The shiny CF is really well done :p I like it a lot, so much so that I am thinking of hunting down more examples of this shiny CF stuff. Better bling value than the matt finish CF examples on other models.
It really brings me to another point I have brought up before about the use of micarta and polished G10....much underutilised IMHO. I'd like to see more of those as well as shiny CF :)

Here is a whole bunch of Ladybugs in S/S dress for special occasions or just EDCing.
IMHO a very much under-rated little knife. My current black FRN Ladybug is my most used knife and I expect if this replaces my FRN one that it too will see a bit of action.
These ones are for all the blokes in my family for Xmas as gifts. Hope they will like it. I'm tempted to use mine now, but have promised to wrap it up and only open on 25th :(

Here are some comparisons between my current 'take anywhere' FRN Ladybug SE and the new S/S Ladybug PE.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r152/datan070973/cutlery/Spyderco/Ladybug/DSC_2160.jpg
You can see the more pronounced finger choils in the S/S example and the dropped point ala Delica 4 style blade shape. Blade is broader on the S/S version and the FRN SE one is pointier. I haven't used my new one yet, and thus cannot say which I prefer. Though I must admit I do tend to use the tip a lot on my current SE Ladybug, and also the serrations do get used to open up USPS packages containing yet more Spydies :p

I actually sourced that one of a mate of mine, along with the waved one. I have seen them being auctioned on the Bay occasionally...though not sure if they are available in any online stores. Have you tried the Pharmacy or any of the usual haunts as yet?
I'm sure one of them should have it if not the Bay would definitely have it if you are patient enough.
Good luck on the hunt mate. You shouldn't have too much hassle on this one though.... I wouldn't think.

I love my Natives. The 2x Native III's in PE and SE are users, and the Native I is starting to become a favourite too. IMHO the Native along with the Delica should be owned by Spyderco fans. They'll just keep going and going with whatever abuse you'd like to throw at them.

Caly3 in VG10 blade steel, with black G10 handles. Since my mini Persian was given away the Caly3 has taken the role as my special occasion carry knife next to my beater Salt I.
I don't think many in this forum or outside of it has anything bad to say about this knife. In fact the opposite is true in that only good things have graced the reputation of this wonderfully capable knife. I dare say that this may take the mettle of Knife of the Year 2007. The only knife for me that may displace this from my person could be the new Delica V ;) in FFG and G10.

The Caly3 is a truly remarkable blade, I absolutely love mine.
On the subject of the Delica V replacing it though: you have to remember, the Caly3 isn't just loved for its G-10 and FFG, it's loved because of the ergonomics that flow from it thanks to Mr. Glesser. Even with a makeover, the D5 won't be a Caly3, and as such, I don't think it'll bump my Caly3 out of my pocket. ;)

Blackhair, I agree with you 100%. Never said that the Delica V would replace the Caly3....just that it MAY replace it in MY pocket, even if for a while ;) I agree the ergos on the Caly3 seem currently to be superior to that of the D4. Who knows what the D5 might hold for us. Maybe it will feature many of the suggestions I have posed for Sal and his team (as has countless other forumites here and elsewhere)
FWIW: Caly3 is THE knife for me at this time and the last couple of weeks has seen it clipped to my side almost all the time.

Beautiful pictures Dan. I even can not tell, which one I like more. All of them top notch.
Regarding EDC Kopa, trust me it nice. It is in my pocket right now and was used already today (I opened a bag with coffee :D, but day only starting :D ). I was lucky to buy second Cocobolo about a year ago.
Please, keep posting your pictures.

Thanks for your comments everyone.
I haven't heard anything more on the Jigged Bone. I am hoping that it'll be released before the end of Feb because I have a few (OK, a lot !) new Spydie releases in 2008 which will hamper my C92 collection. Damn you Spyderco and your tempting ways :D :p
All the Kopa releases scheduled/ announced thus far has really got me excited. The only one which nags at the back of my brain is the Stack Wood ones.... much like the Klown Kopa I fear this one might polarise people. But, in hindsight the Klown Kopa turned out better than expected, though still not to everyones taste.
Stop talking, more photos incoming :D

Here it is the newly released Forest Green G10 UKPK to replace the discontinued Black G10 UKPK.
Let's see if I cannot help Sal move the whole stock of FG UKPK's so he can help me out with Purple G10 :D
What can I say about this version of the UKPK ???? Nothing that hasn't already been mentioned in any of the other UKPK appreciation threads. Aside from the G10 colour (which is very subdued but sexy nonetheless) there isn't much difference. One minor thing I noticed was its point of balance, which seems to be more centred than my UKPK. My UKPK when placed flat with clip down seemed to roll forward and fall down, whilst this FG UKPK stayed flat.... just a minor thing, not sure if any internal shifting has occured or whether my black UKPK was just a bit off.
Enough talk.... here comes some eye candy

I think if you are a fan of the UKPK or any of the Caly variants, you really need to get this one in the Forest Green G10. If Spyderco makes the Caly 3 with FG G10 then I will be all over it like a rash. In the meantime go get yourself one of these. They marry up nicely with my FG Millie :D . Also I will wish for a black blade Spydie with FG G10 handles (Delica 5, Endura 5, Caly 3, Mille :p) .... you can only pray that Sal might consider it ;)

The fabled Kris, now discontinued. Its sexy curves are both its blessing and its downfall. Great to look at , but unfortunately scares some people off due to its funkiness and relative difficulty to sharpen.
A larger folder than initialy expected. Sexy black micarta :) with lovely shiny s/s bolsters and s/s pins. The length of the blade makes it a bit harder to open up than most other folders. Due partly to the length and also partly to the very tight fit and finish of his nice Schempp folder.

Some come out with a tighter blade than others - after a couple of dozen cycles it tends to loosen up. :)

I would say 70% to 80% of my knives come through with the "customs have been here" stickers on them. I guess they are just doing their job. It just means waiting longer for our toys to come through.
Jigged bone should not be a problem. I have a couple of jiggies which got through OK.

Initial impressions of this Honey Jigged Bone Kopa are all positive. The colours a tad darker than I had expected. Very 'warm' looking compared to some of the previous releases which were looking a lot more like jewellery :) Nothing wrong with that, though this release is harking back to a classic interpretation of a gentlemans folder.
I like the s/s pins on the scales, but at the same time 'want' pinless scales so I can fondle the full handles without interruption.
All in all 2 thumbs up !

Black G10 Dodo PE
This one is an interesting piece. Yet again I was seduced by the curvy blades of Spyderco. Not satisfied with parting company with the smurf version of the Dodo, I had to get a Black version. I tend to carry black handled knives more than the coloured ones as they tend to attract less attention in the black office pants I usually don. So this was an excuse for me to go buy an S bladed curved beauty from Eric's stable.
Once again, like the blue sibling, I discovered what it was like to hold a handle that seemed moulded to my hand. I think larger mitts would find it a tad squeezy to fit into the deep curves of the handle's belly. Fits me fine though :D Ball bearing lock was the reason I got rid of the blue one. But in hindsight this little annoyance with difficult fat thumbs disengaging a ball lock is trivial compared to the ergonomics of the handle.
Love the wire clip. If only it were low riding, that would be greater still.
Enough talk, show us the pics :p

You gotta love Black G10. I do like the coloured G10's coming out lately, but still find myself drawn to the classic colours of black and ....black..... Now where did they hide all the Black Yojimbo's !!!!
Very nice pictures Dan and congratulations on black Dodo.
I love this knife. Great ergos and pure beauty. I fall in love with Dodo, when I saw it first time. But when I was able handle it first time (it was on the knife show), not only me but even a seller had trouble with ball lock, so I didn't buy for almost a year. I believe, some knives at the beginning of production had some issues with lock. but two of mine just perfect, the one, which I found for WhyNot is flawless as well.
It would be very nice, if Spyderco will do Dodo sprint run. May be caged lock,
orange G10:p :p :p
Congratulations again and thank you for morning treat, eye

The ball works perfectly, just that it takes a bit of effort to get to the thing...dunno maybe my thumbs too fat :) ???
Maybe a Blue Dodo would be better for NKP friendliness? time to go find one again ! I find black just camouflages better with my pants, but blue is a bit more relaxing :D

Inspired by users here raving on about their Para Military. I got the twin set of a plain ole Millie and Para. I've had the Millie before but never used it. This time I bought the big and little brothers and pocketed them both immediately.
Military is a beautiful blade, and a classic Spydero. The Para Military takes the Military package and makes it into a pocket rocket ! :D It fits my hands probably better than the Military, ad the compression lock is rock solid.
Here are some pictures I hurriedly took around the yard when the sun came out a few minutes ago. I promise more to come :p

The stout little Salsa took my breath away. Maybe it was its minty fresh colouration that did it. The cool touch of the green almite handles felt very nice. Solid compression lock is amazingly strong. And oh ! the infamous cobra hood that people either love or hate :)
Personally I find this knife quite nice to handle. The 'fatness' of the blade, or breadth of it is a concern for many people. If you only take one knife then it's OK for larger pockets. I can see the concern though. For the blade length there is an awful lot of steel behind it. Then again, the chunky little green knife is meant to be NKP friendly.
Here are a few pics.
