Hi everybody,

I've recently bought a civilian for my, yet modest, spyderco collection. It's plain edged, G-2 steel, aluminum with plastic(?) inlay.(the clip is also steel with plastic inlay) In what year has this knife been produced and is it true that only 300 of them have been made?

Hope somebody can help me

regards Sam

welcome to the forum, sam. anyways, the inlayed panels are a rubber/nylon/plastic combo called KRATON Gerber uses the same meterials on the Easy outs... I have had three. this miterial is far more durable than plastic, and as far the numbers of this knife that were made, I was told 500. not sure, though. there are 500 carbon fiber civis. out, And I may get one.

Hi Sam. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. It is a rare find, indeed. I don't remember the exact number that were made. Most were sold to a film company for cutting film while still on the long rolls. Apparently it worked well for that.
