Which do you prefer for everyday use. I'm not a fan of the 50/50 because you need to have the blade one way or another. I like the plain edge because you can get it sharper, it cuts cleaner, it doesn't snag or tear, if you cut yourself you are not going to have to sew your finger on. Anyway, just wanted to know what people thought.
In the land of knives, Spyderco is king.

I've always preferred plain edge knives, but it's a little hard to find a PE Spyderco around my home. Everybody carries only 50-50!
Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

I LOVE plain edge, but I really really like serrated edges. It's a hard decision really!
Plain edge definitely.
The only time I carry a serrated blade, it is fully serrated, but also with a plain edge in another pocket.

PE is my fav but on a larger knife 50/50 is good.I have no full ser knives aleast not until I get my pink cricket and I would rather it be PE but they did not make any in PE.

I'm gonna go against the flow here. I am a serrated man all the way. Serrated is simply more practical in my mind for everyday cutting purposes. Boxes, tape, rope, bubble wrap, I mean you name it. A serrated edge is more effective IMHO. Yet, one cannot look past a 50/50 blade, as you get the best of both worlds. Even I must admit that plain edges have their strong points also (whittling, finer detail work, etc). But if I could only carry one knife, it would be at least partially serrated.

I'm with RYAN. I think serrated is the way to go. I don't think I would make it a habit to go 'fully serrated', but I like the 50/50 just fine. To me, it is the best of both worlds.
Of course, PE's are nice for ease of sharpening and a host of other things, but hey, we lived this long without serrations, so maybe it's time to enjoy them........

I agree with Ryan,
I prefer serrated, all the way. If you wanted the most flexibility, go 50/50. Do I ever carry a PE Spydie? Sure, but I'll always have a serrated Spydie on me!
