Sal, The Cricket is a fun and functional knife. I think many people would be iterested in different handle materials. It has been offered in: CF, Pink, Nylon and Alimite. How about: G-10, Bone, S/S, etc...

What do you guys and gals think. rr

P. S. - Post your approval to let sal know. rr

p.s. - post to this to get Sal's attention. rr

I agree. I think it would be awesome to have a s/s or even a black linen micarta cricket.
Maybe a cocobolo model for collectors, too.
I'll just keep dreaming....

Just thought of an obstacles to a G-10 Cicket
The G-10 might have to be thinner than that of the other G-10 models, or it would be much thicker than the FRN version.

On the Bright side, the design work is already taken care of by adaption of the CF version's design.

A Cricket with G-10, very nice.

In the land of knives, Spyderco is king.

Sal - I was talking to Vince at BladeArt.com. I really liked the Frank Recupero Crickets. I would not hesitate to spend that kind of money. would prefer Spyderco to come up with a more affordable option, many peole would collect them. Rico

I formally withdraw my request for a G-10 Cricket, instead, make the steel VG-10

How About we make the G-10 Cricket the forum Model. There should be little/no retooling involved, as the tooling from the CF crickets could be utilized.

<img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Pink would be ironic considering all of the recent interest!

I was thinking of blue. Not the lighter blue from the Native but a darker, navy blue. Burgundy works, too.

A G-10 Cricket would be, for all intensive purposes, a new model. That means that another new model would have to be pushed out to make room for the G-10 Cricket.

When we are faced with such decisions, we have to consider the concept of &quot;how many will we sell?&quot; Will it pay for the tooling and prfomotion? Would it be BETTER to have than another new model? Some interesting thoughts.

Sal - If I am correct G-10 can be produced in many colors. I think there is a large group wo would buy one of every color if not more. for instance I have
frn cricket - serrated
frn cricket - plain
almite cricket 2 serrated one plain
2 carbon fiber - serrated
2 pink - serrated
They make a great accessory or could change with ones mood. Rico
p.s. Sal if not g_10 how about different colors of frn (red, green, yellow, blue, etc..). rr

Hi Rico. We made samples of 8 diffeent colors of Crickets and showed them both in the 2000 and 2001 SHOT Shows. They received surprizingly very little attention from our dealers.

The real crickets here are black.

J- Is this coming from a guy who just bought a &quot;PINK&quot; Cricket. In TEXAS our Crickets are brown.
Sal - Send me those colorful crickets and I will go around and generate interest. Maybe hardcore knifers are stuck on black, but I think if marketed correctly there would be interest. rr

I formally withdraw my entreaty for a G-10 Cricket if the steel in the normal cricket is changed to VG-10
