the holidays are coming... and i think it's fair to assume that some of our most special and beloved knives will get some pocket carry, in honor of the season. might even cut some ribbon, wrapping paper...

my question to you folks -- what special spydie are you going to be carrying this holiday season?

i think it's either going to be my volpe, or my burgundy jess horn ZDP...

most people don't seem to have my qualms, but I don't like hearing a pocket clip. for holiday events, or to some degree any time I'm going to be in someone's home for a long period of time. given this prerequisite, I still have a range of options:D imagine that. My titanium salsa in some cases where heavier cutting might be in the cards, but only when I have a coin pocket, I hate to say it but the knife tends to pop open, both the titanium and aluminum model seem to have this problem. I have a small William and Henry that I carrying a small leather pouch sometimes this would formally be my primary holiday carry, this is a small overseas model, nonproduction now but not as expensive, as a US-made William Henry. My subcom would be an option especially dressed up with micarta scale as it is, but it still seems a little aggressive in some cases. I just purchased a smooth Redbone. Kiwi
which will be my primary holiday carry this year. I like the knife design a lot very people friendly. although I've not had time to test this it easy to open.
My smallest carry for extreme friendliness is a US-made shrade old-timer complete with nail nik for inconvenient. but disarmingly slow opening. I would like to get a small custom, or high-quality production slip joint, for these occasions at some point. I find that people are baffled by even the simplest lock mechanism. they don't even seem to look for one to try to close at and seem to get slightly concerned when they can't. Most people are absolutely incapable of finding a liner lock. I'm not sure about a compression lock. but I'm not breaking out my yoJimbo at the Christmas table, so someone else what to try the experiment.

By the way I have my eye on a chance to enter enter a lottery, $150 slip joint, by a lesser-known maker, it has pleasing micarta scales, over steel. the knife is generally modeled after. shrade sought Buster, small I believe clip point blade, with a slight swag along the top. This seems like a good deal to me. if on the upper my personally oriented holiday budget.

Actual answer to the question I will be carrying a Redbone Kiwi

I believe for me it will be the p'kal. I have yet to obtain a kris, but that would be a great holiday carry also! Hey is this a trick question...any spyderco would be a great holiday carry. Take care all and God Bless You during this holiday season!

PE Harpy!
Good choice Gollum! :)

Well, since it *is* the holidays, perhaps I'll try something new:

-G10 SE Harpy that arrived today - RFP
-SS SE Harpy LFP
-Ronin neck knife
-Spydercard in back pocket
-PE Meerkat in other back pocket
-Lava (Ace!) up my sleeve ~ when it gets here
-HoneyComb in purse
-SE FRN Ladybug on keychain
-Cricket in purse

Nah, perhaps that's a bit much, after all, my name is not DOC SNUBNOSE!!! ;) ;) :D

I'm with Tap... no change.

My Caly 3 will open the package and welcome my new blue dog paw large Classic Sebenza to the family, but the Caly 3 is alpha, of course :D

My holiday carry choice almost always ends up being the Persian...it just seems to fit for those occasions.

Hmmm, most likely it will not change from one of my normal EDC's which consists of a SE hawkie (Harpy or Merlin) and either my ZDP Caly Jr. or my Lava. I may mix it up though and go with my D2 Millie for my PE blade.:D

My Native, but only until I get to the box that has the Caly Jr, then it's GO time!! Looks like I'll have to do some recon and figure out which box has the Caly Jr in it:D
Another good question is how long can any of us stand to look at all those boxes that need to be broken down without putting any new:spyder: to work?

D2 Military and Gunting trainer (now I have the green and red covered for the holidays:D). Actually, both of these will see a lot of use during the holidays--especially the Gunting, since it is used in almost every Albo Kali Silat class.

IF it arrives soon it'll be an Ocelot. If not, Stainless Delica 4 or one of the Caly 3's.

- best wishes, Jazz.
