i have some scratches on the tip of my copilot i'd like to get rid of. what is the best way of going about this? they aren't "deep". would i use the sharpmaker, metal polish, etc?

8-)

i know i know. i just want to see if there is a way to buff them out since this is a keepsake knife more than a heavy use knife. it was a gift from my girlfriend.

Theoretically, it's possible.

In the case of this specific item however, it's impossible to say without more detail about the scratches and how deep they are relative to the finish on the blade from when it was ground at the factory.

you can polish it out, if the scratches are not that deep. But most of the time, it won´t help much ;) i think you should leave it the way it is

Polishing out blade scratches yourself is a tough job unless you have access to a buffer. You can try Flitz metal polish, but don't expect it to do much on heavy scratches. Spyderco Warranty & Repair will buff the blade out for you if you send it in along with $20 for repair services and a note explaining what you'd like to have done.

My advice would be just to keep using and enjoying the. My EDC CoPilot has lots of scratches on it. They remind me of all the great and reliable service that it has given me over the years.
