I am interested, in h-1 my have held out so far, I'm not a huge fan of frn the least in terms of the current models available. A firm version of the Delica possibly with titanium liner's would be good, a titanium line Frn Calypso Jr. would be better. Optimally would be g-10 ocelot like folder this time duck prints, or not:D I think you get the idea.

I really like the idea of a rust proof knife, for tropical vacations, or as a user or funky gonkey applications. I understand it is an expensive material, and the price for higher in materials and blade would be rather high, maybe even out of my price range. but I think given that spyderco for now has a unique corner on the market. producing a high-end each one all weather all conditions folder. a good move.

Actually ideally it would be a titanium frame lock, possibly with titanium hardware or h-1 and a heavy, ATR type blade. Maybe a mini ATR with a four-way clip. ti of course.

The only problem would be the expense of making a knife with an H-1 blade and a titanium handle. Even if you were to market it along the lines of a rust-proof gentleman's knife, of sorts, it would somewhat fly in the face of the rough-and-tough application that most Salt knives are designed for.

Could you really see a finely-clad gentleman with a titanium-handled knife hacking his way through the bayou? (without any worry of rust! :) )

I think you were probably right that it would be out of your price range, as I suspect it would be out of most people's price range. If just putting liners in the Salt series is cost prohibitive, building an all-new knife like you suggest would be a huge gamble at (in my opinion) rather long odds. With the past problems Spyderco has had with titanium production, I wouldn't try it, but Sal is braver than I am.

Sorry you don't like FRN, I think it's great stuff. But then, I don't like metal handles or frame locks either, so I guess that leaves us even. ;) Different strokes for different folks.
