If so, what do you think of the knife overall and it's cost, as opposed to value?(Comparing it to other Spydercos) Thank you in advance.

I own one. It's nicely made, comparable in quality and workmanship to the G-10 Caly 3, but somewhat simpler, since it lack liners and a lock. Personally, I prefer to carry a locking folder, but, as with most things in life, YMMV.
I have one. I really like it, opening and closing is fast enough cause there is no lock. I use it primairly for opening boxes with books in them, or cutting down those boxes if they are empty.
I really like the steel. Cool "golden, colorado, usa, earth" text and all. I like the clip, the knife is very lightweight (no liners, or a need for that), so you dont "feel" the knife dragging in your pockets. Then again, you DO feel it if you dont wear it clipped where it should be (RFP for me).
Comfortable (even for my big mitts), small, and very sharp. I am confident in using it, no lock isnt an issue for me, on this knife.
It's nicer looking then a D4 (g10 and full flat grind), and less tactical. Not many (if any) customers look scared if I use it to open a box, or make a small hole in plasic wrapping with it. I think they would if I'd be using a Delica (not sure though, espescially with a pink one).
I am wanting one in blue or dark red G10 ... but I'm working on that. :)
Buy one, ... because you're worth it ;)

Hey FastEddie,
Not sure where you live, but the UKPK has been designed for a specific purpose. Namely, the use of this legal to carry knife in terms of its blade length and slipjoint (non-locking) pocket knife.
I would suggest that if you like the shape and size and quality of the UKPK to look at the Caly3 in G10 with VG10 blade. Pretty much the same as the UKPK but with a lock.
The DKPK is the same as the UKPK but designed for the Danish laws with chamfered Spyderhole to prevent ease of one handed opening.

I would really seriously consider the Caly 3, as you can see from the votes in the Spyderco Knife of the Year 2007 awards thread, the Caly 3 has many votes including one from me. I think it is a very nicely priced knife for the package you get. You cannot go wrong and one of Spyderco's best medium sized blades thus far.
Cheers

I have a UKPK and a Caly3. Of late, I have found myself carrying the UKPK more that the Caly3. I keep trying to figure out why it feels better in my hand - I think it must have something to do with the balance of the weight and, of course, the deeper finger choil. The stiff opening bothered me at first, but I'm accustomed to it now.
For a long time, though, the Caly3 was the EDC knife for me. I'm wanting to trade my PE for an SE. If I do, it may be my EDC knife again.
You can't go wrong with either one, though. Nor could you go wrong with an older Caly Jr, esp. in ZDP-189!

My UKPK has held its place in my LF pocket against all comers for over a year now, and that ain't easy ;)
What else can I say, except it is the reason I don't have a Caly3. I'll have to buy another one when the new handle color(s) come out :D

I would discourage trading your PE Caly3 for an SE. I have the G-10 SE, and the PE CF/ZDP, and I feel that the blade geometry is much better suited towards PE.
The Caly3 certainly isn't a bad knife in SE, but it just works a lot better in PE, IMHO.
Frankly, I feel that if you're not EDC'ing the Caly3 now, trading it in for an SE version isn't going to make you want to start EDC'ing it again.

i'm not just a uk penknife owner, i'm a uk penknife lover!
and it has nothing to do with laws on locking knife, this knife is a gem. perfect ergos, great materials G10/S30V and for daily normal use you don't even miss the lock.
can't wait for that orange G10!

I love the UKPK. In so much so that I collect it. Its the only Spyderco Knife that I collect. Course there are only 2 versions of it so far so its not much of a collection yet :). But I do love those knives. the Ergos are similar to the caly 3 but the Deeper choil is a huge difference in my book. Its such a comfortable knife. I don’t care that its non locking. With the Choil i have never worried cause I knew my finger would stop it (no not cut my finger, I mean the Choil). I as well like the steel better than VG-10. Better than ZDP even. Not that ZDP does have its place, cause I pretty much EDC my ZDP Caly 3 and love that stuff.
I cant wait to get the new UKPK models.

I think it's been in the LF pocket ever since getting it a few weeks ago. The Caly III/SE had that spot earlier. I guess the PE is less threatening. But then again, I usually have three other blade in my other pockets. Carpenter jeans are great! :D

I have a few  One I carry frequently is an STR modified UKPK in Red Micarta. I actually like carrying the DKPK too. I expect the Urban to fill this slot. And like others I am awaiting the orange G10. I like the look of the orange G10 on my gunting :p .

I just bought the Caly3 PE in G10 on Tuesday. Although I haven't really done much with it, it does carry very nice. The blade shape is great and it slices like a monster out of hell. It has kicked my BM Ritter Mini-Griptiallin and my d4 wave out of rotation for a while. I feel that when I get my BM 14210 back from repair that it will probally just sit there too.
Caly3=EDC killer!!!! :p
OOOps just realized this was more on the UK. It felt really great in hand, but I wanted a knife with a lock. The UK pen should do just fine as well as they are almost the same.

I have owned both the Caly III and the UK pen knife. I gifted both after a while. Almost the same except the Caly III has a lock and VG10 and the UK had no lock and S30V. Of the two I really wish I had kept the UK pen knife.
May have to get another UK before they are gone.

Thanks for all the informative posts and the great pictures. I'm going to order one and I would really like to get my hands on one of those DKPK's also!

I have one and like it. The design is GREAT! But I must admit that I like it's Caly III cf/zdp189 brother better. That way that one is in my pocked a I write this.
