Okay folks, search isn't cooperating. I received a couple of Police models today that I bought on eBay. One was supposed to be a newer VG-10 with stainless handles. Instead, it is marked G2 and has aluminum scales. I don't recall seeing anything about an aluminum Police before, so my question is, "Is this for real?" I'd hate to give the seller a hard time if it turns out to be a rare collectable worth more than a new one ;) .
Thanks for any info you can give me.

I have had an aluminum handled Police model before.
It's been so long, I don't recall where/when I got it, or why I gave it up.
I'd love to know more about this model as well.

From Spyderco's "Across the Years" timeline of products:

There's a picture of one is this thread (top knife):

I'd be hanging onto it if I were you. Sounds like a scarce knife.

Wow I wish I had that sort of luck. A mint Aluminium police will go $300US if perfect with box etc. Thats a real win!!!!!!!

Mint it ain't, and no box either. It's obviously been a user, and none to gently used at that. But since the other one was a slab-side with front lock, I guess the aluminum would qualify as "newer" :D
Thanks for the links CoPilot. I was in a bit of a hurry at lunch, and wasn't as thorough as I should have been.
