I have been edc'ng my Caly3 G10 plainedge and i must admit, that its probably the Best knife,i have ever owned.
The design is pure genius and its got great versatility.Materials used in both Caly3's are superb.
The Caly3 wears great,in my pockets.I know some have issues with the wireclip, but to me it gives a nice touch and the clip doesn't hook onto everything.
The VG10 is an excellent choice bladesteel for the standard Caly3.
I now have experienced the true benifits of a FFG on a blade, with this model.
I must add that i love G10 as a handlematerial and i wait in anticipation for the Delica5 G10 foilage green, and FFG.
I think the Caly3 G10 would look great in Foilage green, maybe sprintrun?
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY FELLOW KNIFEKNUTS!!

I absolutely agree with everything you said about Caly3. I carry it for more than a year, it is almost perfect. Caly3 is on the top of my knives list. I think, I need to buy one more.

dude,i totally agree with you.
You know when you like something so much, you feel you can have a spare, just for backup or aestetic value.
im thinking the serrated version next, cause all my Spydies are paired, plain and serrated, they are like shoes, you cant just have one shoe?

it's a great knife, and fully worthy of all the praise it recieves.

i originally had qualms about paying such a big price for a little knife, but i scored an SE one for next to nothing on ebay... it's been a favorite ever since... :D

I completely agree. The Caly3 is the best ever. It has replaced my beloved ZDP Jess Horn as my EDC. I took it out the other day and tried to imagine how I would improve it. I could not think of a thing I could change or improve. It is so sweet a cutter that I don't need anything else for normal daily matter separation. Great Job Sal!

Chris:) :) :)

I love my CF Caly3, but I want to get a G-10 version for an EDC.

If you like the G-10 version, you will love the CF version. That thing slices like a demon!

Just wondering how the Caly3 would look with a slight rounded handle, maybe on the CF model, sorta pistolgrip like the D'Allara.
Not that the Caly3 needs extra grip, but for bigger hands like mine,it mite be cool/a slight bigger handle aswell, then again i wouldn't tamper with the already perfect designed Caly3 either, just a thought.

STR, possibly? It is my understanding that Steve tries to avoid working with G-10 due to lung problems. I was thinking more of Potterma, as he's done some nifty sculptured G-10 work, and am sure there are others as well.

Meanwhile, the Caypso Jr has been the perfect EDC for me..maybe I need to handle the urban

I would have to agree that the Caly3 is, IMO, the best Spyderco ever conceived. Granted, I haven't handled a lot, but I just find something about the compactness and ergonomics of the Caly3 really compelling.

I currently have a Caly3 PE and UKPK. I have a Caly3SE on the way and I'm planning on a Caly3 CF/ZDP!

I also have a Caly Jr. I like the light weight (due to FRN handle), but I don't like the clip or the thicker choil/pivot area of the handle or the weird chamfer on the spine.
