Should I get the Calypso Jr. Lightweight, or should I look at somthing else with vg-10 steel. I like the Calypso because it has the vg-10 flat grind, but so does the Almite Navigator. My price limit is about 40 bucks.

Your selection is a good one with the Calypso jr. If you do a search
on this knife you will find that it is well reguarded and has a hardcore
following of fans / users.
There is one important point here..... The Calypso line has been dropped
due to poor sales. The knife design was poorly understood by the general
public so sales suffered. It is the classic "sleeper" that we all hear about.
Buy (they cost about $40) and you will see what a great useful tool it
really is. The only thing they would do poorly is skin an animal, but
then how many animals do we skin nowdays??
