The Tactical One Admits Prior Posting was False

For those of you who previously read the "Attacked my [sic] a civilian" thread posted by The Tactical One (TT0), in which he claimed to have been the victim of a crime committed with a Spyderco knife, he has admitted on bladeforums.com that the story was false.



"the story was false and was truely meant to be a joke until a saw peoples first responses and didn't know how to just come out and say 'just kidding guys'"



There is a link to the bladeforums thread at the end of the TTO thread on this forum, but the language being used there to describe TTO and his hoax is pretty strong. The consensus on that forum is that he owes Sal an apology and should otherwise refrain from posting in the future.

I agree, he needs to apologize, especially for making up a story which involves the bad use of a Spyderco product. Clay, I think it was you who once said something about many people reading these forums, including those opposing the use of knives? Anyone should know better than to invent stories that are harmful to the knife industry image.

I suppose TTO has blown his chance for that.

I was annoyed to hear that TTO's story was a farce. I had already shared it with a few people, and even mentioned it to some students in my class at college. Stuff like that shouldn't be pulled in a way that it could be taken seriously. If I were TTO, I would show my face in the Spyderco forum.

Yes, he does owe Sal an apology as well as all the folks who use and collect Spyderco products. Its a sad thing when a person has to lie to get attention....

Sal, I do believe you have every right to sue him for defamation of character or something akin to that. There is enough e-evidence to choke a cook county lawyer. I'd sue is plump arse and make a showcase out of this sensless idiot before he spawns.. JMHO

BTW-He would never answer my questions on just how he got away scott free packing and using a concealed weapon..I asked twice...

I will give TTO this, it was an imaginative tale, but nothing more. He has violated the trust of everyone on the forum and in doing so, in my mind, lost the privelige of being allowed into any other forum discussions.
He does owe Sal, and everyone in the forum, an apology for his thoughtless actions. My suggestion? Have him post an apology to everyone, and have that be his last post for at least six months.
