has anyone else thought how handy and welcome a bicycle tool by spyderco would be? i know i have... and looking at the atwood bike tool got me thinking about it once again...
anyone else like to see a spyderco tool for cyclists? any ideas what it features it might contain? any designer wannabes feel like doing a little photoshop artwork?
let's do a little group brainstorming and see if we can come up with some ideas for sal to consider... :D

And then...a spyderco folding bike! With pocket clips and spyder-holes EVERYWHERE
To develop a bike tool would take time away from developing knives. I would rather see more knives.

A Spyderench is the only tool I really want to see coming out of Spyderco. :)
I realize there are many Peter Atwood fans here as I am one of them as well, but really Spyderco is all about the knives so I would say lets keep it that way. So I support the knife collaboration with Peter Atwood, but am not really convinced that a tool collaboration would be really beneficial for Spyderco.
You never know I could be wrong. It has happened before and it sure will happen again:D
take care

Well, Spyderco as far as I see has its strengths in hardened steel and ceramic sharpeners...I'm not sure where that fits in with the whole bike thing. And Park Tool does a fine job with many of their products...
Well, how about a compact ceramic tool for smoothing out dinged-up metal on the road? That would have nice applications for keeping wheels from cutting up the tires after a crash on a tour or something. It could have multiple inside and outside curves (including a large-radius inside curve) for dealing with all sorts of issues, and in fact it would be great around the garage or shop as well for dealing with damaged or burred metal.

Maybe I'll take this project up for my Digital Imaging class this semester...
For me to want it (I am an avid mountain biker), it must have:
4mm Hex
5mm Hex
15mm Hex
Spoke Wrench
Tire Iron
Bottle Opener
Wait, Atwood just made his bike tool! That's what I'd want. :p
But seriously, I am thinking of something quite FRN Dyad.

Well, the SpydeRench has room for up to 4 standard sized bits, so you could put Hex bits in there. It also has that nice crescent wrench.
I'm not an avid biker by any means, but for all of the repairs I've ever done to a bike, the SpydeRench would've worked great. Seems like a good bike tool to me. ;)
I'm curious as to what features/tools besides the ones it has now would make it more desirable for cycling?

At least make the tool available with wrench sizes that fit Dutch bicycles. Also add some bits for mundane chores (to help switch out a light bulb or mending a tire). Remember, here in Holland we use a bicycle as a daily means of transport, not necessarily as a piece of sporting equipment.:D ;)

If Spyderco would make such thing as a dedicated bike tool I know at least one forumite that will be very happy. Raven, do you copy? ;)
