I just got my Mini-Manix last night, and I am impressed! :D

I manged to snag one of these in one of those "It's discontinued, I should get one" purchases. You know, the dangerous ones. :p

When it arrived, I was stunned the moment I picked up the box. That thing is heavy! When I pulled it out of the box, I thought for a moment that there had
been a mix-up, and that I had gotten the Manix! It was only when I compared it to my Caly3 that I was assured of its identity (if the Mini-Manix is that big, how huge is the Manix?! )

Everything that people have said is true. This knife is solid! If the Caly3 is a Porsche, then the Mini-Manix is a Humvee (and when I say Humvee, I mean the military version, not the sissy civilian version :p ).

I haven't gotten a chance to do any real testing yet, but I have confidence that the Mini-Manix will take pretty much whatever I throw at it. I plan to use it as a replacement for my Caly3 when I go camping.

In the same way that the Caly3 just exudes ergonomics and smoothness, the Mini-Manix is the essence of toughness and reliability. You can just feel it the moment you pick up the knife.

The full-flat grind makes this knife a devil of a slicer; and even though it does have a thicker blade, and isn't quite as sharp as the Caly3, it's still shaving-sharp, and can easily push-cut paper.

For anyone undecided on this knife, get one! You won't be disappointed. ;)
The only real disappointment is the fact that it's been discontinued. :(

And now for some comparison pics (sorry for the bad quality):

A pic that I've always wanted to do, and now have the perfect knife for. :p

Oh, and here's the "bonus" that my title talked about. I took a bunch of pics the other day when I saw a convenient fruit basket sitting on the counter, but unfortunately, only 2 of them turned out okay. So, since I can't make a picture thread out of two pictures...

SE Tasman Salt. I love this knife! :D

Swick and UKPK. A pair that's GOLDEN.

Great pics blackhair. I had a manix for about an hour but sent it back cuz it wasnt a pe. Ended up with a mili which I think fits in the pocket alot better then the fullsize manix. Now I have the new mili on the way so dont know if I will ever end up with a manix or not

I have used for EDC a mini manix PE and a Caly 3 PE ever sins i got my LNIB Mini Manix off the bay about 6 months ago. I carry the caly in my pocket and the manix IWB. Sometimes I also carry a SE Cricket for those occasions that demand teeth, though I prefer PE for most tasks I face.

If the Caly3 is a Porsche, then the Mini-Manix is a Humvee

LOL, I agree. That being said, if the Mini-Manix is a Humvee, then the full size Manix is a Peterbilt.

I often carry the full sized Manix IWB and a UKPK clipped to my right front pocket. The UKPK is extremely ergonomic, light and precise...perfect for most EDC tasks. When I want something more robust, the Manix is more than adequate.

I've been favoring small knives lately, but if theres ever a day where I think I might need more knife than a UKPK offers, I know what'll get the job done.
