Re : The "Law"
Yes forumites, the talisman that the pundits of our time will try to use
against knife owners in general, Spydie
owners in particular. America tends to Deify the lawyer today ( LA Law ( T.V. series ) Legally Blonde ( movie ) The Peoples
Court ( pulp T.V. )). I tell ALL of you
this : If lawyers made people no money
they would be hated ( then they would
probably enter politics ). The "Law" as
many Americans tout as if they had a
"license" to do so is "officiated" over
by Judges ( Criminal & Civil ) and the
"thin blue line" ( just Criminal ). These
Pundits would just as soon vaporize
our knives ( their "weapons"<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> as soon as
"officiate" over our fate. Let us God
fearing, Country loving Americans back the AKTI in it's fight against wrongful
knife legislation, and then :
"Let's kill all the Lawyers!"

Hey, not all lawyers are bad!!! There are 2 sides to the coin. On the flip side, the public in general tend to villify all lawyers whether they are good or bad.
Just as some lawyers try to use the law to limit the use of knives, others try their best to intepret or change legislation to better protect and serve the needs of knife owners. Don't forget that some of us lawyers are avid knife users and collectors as well!!!!
Remember that Madison and Jefferson, who drafted the US Bill of Rights, both read law.

You are so right, not all lawyers are bad. I recently heard that the post office was working on a stamp to honor lawyers by placing a series of famous lawyers on the stamps. The problem they had was they were worried that people would not know which side to spit on.
WoooHoooo! Merry Christmas!

I said I worked for a "law bender"; I
grant that not ALL lawyers aren't evil
( at least not inherently so ), what I
was trying to point out was that people
"Deify" ( make a false idol of ) lawyers.
I also made note that Judges and Cops
"officiate" over the "law". Indeed, the
AKTI uses lawyers to achieve a justifible end with regards knife legislation ; here is where the lawyer
comes of use to us, but they certainly
will NOT do it out of the kindness of
their greedy little hearts !
Just a thought, KrazieKurtis.
Merry Xmas ALL forumites!

One must remember most if not all judges are former lawyers! What does that have to do with anything, I dunno! You will always need a lawyer to promote pro knife legislation, so don't cut your lunch!
Hy don't get mad at me, you can blame this on CalypsoKid...
What do you call 2000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
A good start!
Don't worry hoosierdaddy, despite being a lawyer, i've got a sense of humour....<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>....have plenty of lawyer jokes myself.
As a matter of fact, one my favourite quotes is one by Benjamin Franklin who said:
God works wonders now and then
Behold! A lawyer and an honest man!

The only reason that I have anything to do with lawyers is because there is one in Denver that has the same F/L name I do.
