Does anyone know what steel is going to be used in the new C64 Meerkat? This knife really intrigues me, especially with it's unique lock system! I gave my old Dargonfly to my Dad, so I'll be getting another small Spyderco. Is the steel on all the current line of ATS-55 knives going to VG-10 eventually? If so, I may wait for a VG-10 stainless Dragonfly. Thanks to all replies! RKBA!

The Meerkat uses 440C steel for the blade. It seems to keep its edge fairly well.

Hola,

There eventually will be 2 blade configurations for the MeerKat, a modified drop-point and a modified "Cricket-type" (reverse S). The Cricket-type hasn't been released yet.

Mod. drop-point = 440C
Cricket morph = AUS-6

We still have quite a bit of ATS-55 in the thinner stock so models like the dragonfly will still have ATS-55 for the next 6 months, at least.
