BTW I own the G-10 Police
Has anyone else noticed that the Police, when closed could make a good fistload?
The index finger fits nicely behind the hump, the thumb on where the blade projects when open.
I already use it in this fashion to break the tape seal when breaking down empty boxes, and shift grip to open the blade to finish the job.
Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.

Hey, Knife Knut--
I was just making the same observation the other day, when I had a bunch of the steel versions laying around here. I like a knife w/good striking features, but the Police model is a little larger than I'm willing & able to carry every day (I also prefer American-made knives, 'cuz I work here, but that's another topic!)
I've found that even some of the smaller knives, like the G-10 Native I happen to carry, can be better for striking than I had originally thought. My hand ALMOST covers the knife when closed, but both sides of my fist have a hard surface with which to make contact.
Another benefit of the smallness, from a martial-arts perspective, is that less of the knife exposed may mean more difficult to disarm by an opponent.
On the downside, it's probably not nearly as effective on boxes!
Happy & Safe New Year,
Vince
