View Full Version : KC-135: The Flying Gas Station
I don't get around here as much as I used to, but I thought that some of you may like these.
Yesterday, I went out and took a few pictures of these big birds doing some touch and goes. I hope that you enjoy these.
Thanks, Ron

Wow. Great Pics! Where did you take these? I love anything to do with flying, and these are great:D
Thanks Spyderwings. These pics were taken near Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA. I am with you 100% about loving anything to do with flying!

Awesome pics of a great aircraft. I also am an aircraft lover. I have logged quite a few hours in the left seat, but not gotten my private pilots license yet. If it flies.....I like it. :)

No spring chickens there. We had 135's at McGuire AFB in 1967.

What aircraft are you training on, David? I just finished my license this past summer on a C-152. When ever I see anything to do with flying I get the urge to go up. If only I could afford to fly more frequently:o

I have trained on the C-152, Piper Tomahawk, and the C-172. I've also flown a PA-30 Twin Comanche (first twin engine). I do prefer the high wing Cessna's for training. The Tomahawk was less forgiving and doesn't center up like the Cessna's if you just let go of the yolk. Plus you can see more below with the wing above you rather than right beside you.
Eventually I will get back into it but for now I'm just waiting. ;)
Nice job on finishing your license.

Dirty Jobs (with Mike Rowe! :D ) did a segment on the KC-135. Mike, as big a guy as he is, crawled through the tiny wing hatch and into the wing tank to scrape off old sealant and apply new stuff. It was quite comical!
Great pics, by the way!
