or is it just me? i guess there are only so many shapes to use for a one handed opening but this is really similiar, at least they aren't stealing the spydie hole.

The pear shaped hole is indeed closer to Bladetech's. I've seen this at many folders. In fact, I think I still have somewhere in the drawer a knife which looks very much like the one you linked to. Except that mine has some bolsters with chinese dragons on it, probably to remind me where the knife was made ;)
