first,i would say that clipless knives aren't a favorite,and i prefer clippets.
But sometimes there's a gem that catches your eye,but unfortunately comes clipless.
this can limit the edc of a knife, because once you get used to pocketclip knives, you can't realy carry a clipless knife, that much.
So clipless knives you can only wear with certain clothes, with pockets,or a belt and pouch will have to do.
I have a Ka bar Dozier folder,thats clipless,and i would carry it more,if it had a clip.
If a folder is a bit heavy,it should have a clip.

Not counting keychain knives I have a few clipless knives. I have a Kiwi and two Tony Lopes knives. Even though these three are among my favorite knives I almost never carry them because they have no clip. I've explored maybe getting a clipped pouch made for them but think that may be too bulky for my jeans pocket.

one knife I have for deep pocket carry,
and has a lanyard, so for that one,
I removed the clip :)

Can't think of the last time I carried a knife clipped to my clothing. Heck, my favorite Spydie is the Kiwi and, with the exception of a Lava that I sometimes use as a money clip, I take the clips off any other Spydies that I use. Went so far as to have STR grind the bolster on a Kopa down so I could carry it and it wouldn't look like crap without the clip.

Kiwi and Jester are the only two I carry without a clip. I most always have the Jester and the Kiwi once in a while.

Well, if you are counting belt sheaths, I frequently carry a Buck 277 Alpha Folder.

Heck, I always have a stockman or two in the bottoms of my pockets. NKP that would freak if I pulled out a Dragonfly and flipped it open with my thumb won't even blink at the clip blade on my 8OT. I guess there is just something comforting about the traditional patterns.

What Tank said goes for me, too. (Kiwi and Jester).

Clipless knives might not be a favorite of mine, but its the knife that speaks,at the end of the day,not the clip.
Anyway, there's something about a knife without a clip thats nice, and that is when you have one carried in the backpocket of your jeans, the knife handle will leave an imprint on the backpocket over time,as the color of the jeans start fading, and you always have that clipless knife,in the same backpocket.

i carry several knives clipless including my STR-moddied lignum v. handled zdp189 JessHorn, cocobolo Kopa, FRN Robin/Meadowlark for times when I need to be "more discreet" :) If i had the choice, i do prefer clipped carry though ;)

Clip-less knives that I carry include Benchmade 310, 330 and 850, Al Mar Hawk, a Case/Bose slipjoint and a galvanic slipjoint by Kelly Carlson. I always put them in either a clip case or pouch since I don't like the feel of a knife laying loose across the bottom of my pocket.

While On-Duty I also carry a Victorinox Recruit. It hides in my left cargo pocket. I've had this little knife for about 9 years now ...it's even been lost and found several times ;) . Take Good Care All and Be Safe Always.

God Bless :)

Im getting turned off clips , might as well have a sign saying IM PACKING ! . Different areas are more problematical , but except for bush and rural areas you are better off not showing a clip .

I like just about all my EDC items to have a clip. Lights, knives, cell. I own some clipless knives from way back, but I never carry them.

I sanded the clip off of my Dragonfly and attached it to my keyring.

Does that count? :D

If it came with a clip I leave it on. I do carry the occasional slip joint, or SAK though.

I carry a Queen Carved Stag Bone Small Stockman in D2 at the botton of my leftfront pocket for times when the E4 my be a bit too big, so far for cutting jobs, the E4 gets called on 98% of the time.

I also like it because my Grandad used to carry an even smaller Queen as a dress knife, and there is just something about having a natural handled slipjoint at hand to play with in meetings and such. :D

I sometimes carry a vintage Boker penknife that I inherited, or a Ka-Bar slipjoint that was my second knife ever. I usually carry these just for sentimental reasons, and I only carry them 2-3 times per month. I frequently carry my Caly Jr loose in the pocket because tip down is a PITA in my opinion to draw from the clipped position.
