A few remarks after Cristmas shoping in Vienna and Munich (I took part at two scientific conferences there):
1. the best place in Vienna was Elvira Lorenzi's shop, where I bought the Native (CPM440V) for my son, and the Pegasus for myself. In Munich, it was, of course, the Feuerzeugzentrale, where I had opportunity to to have for the first time in my hands the following Spydercos: the Gunting, Ayob, Shabaria... My impressions (shortly): the Gunting is better in hands then in photos, really feels strong and dangereous. Ayob is somewhat strange, Shabaria is very pleasant surprise - I like that oriental 'flavor'. Unfortunately, they had no Temperance Jr. The Centofante's Vesuvius is very beautiful, but I would prefer a slightly smaller gentleman's knife (e. g. Wegner Jr.). Prices are really high compared to US, but that's it.
2. I could not find the REKAT's Pikuni which I like very much (I have seen photos, never had in hands). It seems that it is quite impossible to find Pikuni in Europe. Perhaps Sal creates something similar...
3. I enjoyed to be in Germany and Austria, because they are countries with incredible freedom: you may have ANY knife with you (for exaple, there was no problem to buy legally the Civilian in Vienna - I played with Civilian, very impressive knife, but really not for me: I wish to buy (leaf)Temperance Jr. in BG-42.
4. I also bought a few Opinel knives (mostly gifts), CRKT's fixed M.D.P. STIFF K.I.S.S. to be used at the seawater environment, and a very nice Miguel Nieto's classical folder (440C steel, brass liners, handle brass/micarta combo, beautiful Spanish traditional style).
