Why the "Q"?

I was just curious: Why was the unique skeltonized Spyderco model named the "Q"? The reason I ask this is because I just got done watching a James Bond movie, [Golden Eye] and I just can't help but wonder if the name was taken from Bond's gizmo guy who was nick-named "Q". Maybe I'm all wet, but it seemed logical......

Hi Spydernut. The first 3 names that we came up with, other companies had used. The next few, no body liked. We were down to the wire with the need for a name. What will call the new model was the big Q for the day. Soooo....."Q" worked.
