I recently sent off a 52100 Mule Team to potterma for some permanent Cumaru (aka Brazilian Teak) handles which I finally received yesterday.
Taking the knife out of the green :spyder: box, I was amazed by the beauty and and "chatoyance" :p of the wooden handles... this is my first encounter with Cumaru wood.
In fact, i was actually "blown away" once I held the knife... the contoured slabs fit my hand perfectly, the sweet mosaic pins were a pleasant surprise....all in all a *stellar* job once again by the "master molester" :D thanx again Michael, outstanding job! :spyder:  :spyder:
The first two pix (the good ones) were taken by potterma, the handles seem a little "reddish" in color .... the actual shade of the wood (to my eye) is more brownish than red....
The other pix are mine...sorry about the lighting ...it's kinda overcast today... :o

ROFL Brian. Love the BEFORE shot. First Aid for knife = USPS tactical sheath & Emergency Gauze handle wrap :p
Potterma's 'surgery' made the donkey to the 6 million dollar man :D

thanks Dan, excellent hardware on this kydex sheath .... these G clips are sleek and light compared to the TekLoks ;)
Great pictures Brian.
Somehow I missed them when you started this thread. (You need to have one thread and add, and add, and add:D ). This is beautiful wood. You even cannot imagine how jealous I am. :D :D
I want to get a mule, but prefer stainless, so I will wait and than hopefully I will get similar potterma’s treatment. He does excellent job.

thanks Roger, I believe I first heard the term used one of Paul's custom Kiwi descriptions (maybe the tiger's eye one IIRC) and therefore that word is another trademarked "Deaconism" ;) :p

Brian,
Actually brownish handle is much more pleasing to my eye. Absolutely beautiful! I guess nothing beats mother nature...even micarta I like so much.
Your mule does not look like a mule anymore. It's more like a stallion!:D
Great job, potterma!
Thank you Brian for excellent photos!
