well this sucks... on my new military that i got for christmas i picked it up to open a letter with off the top of my desk and to my abject terror noticed a screw was missing from the clip side, the middle screw to be specific, only on the clip side tho on the other side its still there, that can't be right, i haven't done anything heavy duty with it, in fact it hardly ever leaves my pocket, the screws wouldn't just loosen themselves and fall out on their own would they? WOULD THEY!? well as i said that sucks. i hope it doesn't fall apart on me or nething.

Hi Mat,

Just contact Spyderco. I got a new Civilian once that has a missing clip screw. They sent me a replacement screw no charge.

Hmm,

I've been told that I'm missing a screw or two, but I have yet to see any of my Spydies lose one...just give 'em a call.

I had similar once.
The rear clip-side screw on my Military kept coming loose when new, never fell out, but it was loose enough to make the lanyard tube loose.

Any other company I wouldn't have bothered, but as I was shipping something else to Spyderco anyway I decided to return the Military for "repair", it was fixed at no cost.

My SE Military lost a scale screw after I loaned it to a hired man helping out resodding a backyard. It was dulled pretty good by cutting the sandy loam and nylon netting. I sent it to Golden and it came back sharp and shiny and tight. Good deal for the cost of postage.

hmm well i mailed custsvc@spyderco.com the other day asking for a screw (prehaps i should rephrase that...), no reply as yet but fingers crossed. can't say i'm too pleased with the military to be honest, it seemed a bit fragile when i first got it, i tried it on a "heavy" task today (carving a rough edge off my wardrobe) it developed a lil itsy bit of forwards-backwards blade play. the lock doesn't seem very safe to me, in fact it seems a bit dodgy, if u push down on it i.e. not the way pressure would normally be applied you can see the liner moving across, AND the bottom screw was on the way to falling out so i had to tighten it up a bit with a thin flathead screwdriver for glasses (not having one of the right type of screwdrivers in that size). all in all i'm not best pleased with this knife, think i'll stick it in the attic and pass it on to my grandchildren in 60 years.
