I have one and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread... of course I used the sharpmaker to sharpen that knife .

It is definitely worth it if you're not too familiar with using a sharpening stone. If you follow the included instructions or instructional video, it'd be really hard to screw up your blade from sharpening at the wrong angle, or whatnot.

It lists for around $65, but it can be had for around $45 at most online sites.

Hi Nomaded! Welcome to Spyderland!

As for the 204, my praise is totally without reservation. I am very skilled with a benchstone, but the 204 is a good bit easier and more predictable.

One small word of caution on technique, which I picked up off my "Praise the 204" thread: be wary of different pressure on different sides. I am right handed, so my edges tend to drift a little on the left side. Once this is understood, correcting it is a minor issue.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

You'll find it online for around $40-50. Is it worth it? Absolutely. It is a well worth investment, especially for maintaining that SpyderEdge!
