who says that it sucks?

I have been hearing alot of trash bashing going on about ATS-55, but actually, this is the best steel of the year, last year that is. for all of you who say that it tarishes easyly, you are misguided. last week, I lost my delica in the snow, and did not find it for three days. no rust, residue, or rattle. all the spydies that I have ever had were 55, 34, or g-2, and above all, the 55 is the best by far. given, VG-10 may be new, but often small foundations on large buildings cause a fall. stick with 55. I cannot understand why they would ever discontinue this fine steel.



mabey I am still roasted from new years, buti don't like VG 10.

It's certainly not me who says it sucks. I can't actually tell the difference between ATS-34 and ATS-55.

In my very unscientific tests, VG-10 sharpens up extremly well for very fine cuts, I find CPM-440V a very odd steel, it feals coarse even though it sharpens up very well making it ideal for tougher cuts. ATS-34 and ATS-55 I put somewhere in the middle, (that's in the middle of persieved coarsness, not quality).

All excellent steels, but each has slightly different properties.
