Very nice. I really like the first pic, but all of them have a real simpleness to them that make them really appealing.

That is a very tough choice!! I love the Caly CF and am carrying that most of the time, but......
I also love the Caly 3 and the UKPK (I really like the orange G-10), but......
The LBKs constantly amaze me, particularly the Meerkat and the Co-Pilot.

A new addition to the family. This is a really nice knife. I love the blade shape and the flat grind - it definitely won't be the last.

I've said it before, but the Assist is massive! Its also a very cool looking blade. Actually, it is pretty comfortable to hold when squeezing out the carbide tip.

Excellent pics of that Kopa. That particular version of the Kopa is growing on me greatly. I'm thinking that it would be an almost perfect knife to give to someone that is "old school" and doesn't have a one handed opening folder yet. It's like old school meets new school. :D
Too many Spydies on my list of "wants" to get them all. ;)

I just got the Sage. I really like the S30V stell, it has a nice grainy look, and I seem to be able to get it incredibly sharp.
A few comments.
Firstly, I liked seeing the letter from Sal in the box. It sounds like a very interesting project - I like the idea of creating basically the same knife with different locks and different materials and going back to the originators! Perhaps the guys at Spyderco could dedicate a knife to Sal!
Secondly, the carbon fibre has a different look and feel to the CF on the Caly 3. It has a much 'rougher' feel, and the pattern is quite a bit different. Ialso like the way the grooved out finger rest which makes moving to close the blade nice and quick.
All in all, a pretty impressive knife!!

I've started a bit of a Surefire collection too! Its even more expensive than collecting Spydies though :(

Great photos telemeister! Is it just my eyes or does the Spydie on the blade of the Sage look different than on other Spydercos? No, it is a new designed Spydie on the blade! Right?
telemeister
05-03-2008, 08:24 PM
It does seem to be a slightly different shaped blade. Just comparing it to the UKPK or the Caly, it is a fair bit wider than either of them. In addition, the choil is not quite as steep. Perhaps Sal or Kristy could chime in if they have the chance.

Hi telemeister. I'm refering to the Spydie bug on the blade. It looks different than on all my Spyderco knives. Like a new design or something.

Okay, I know what you're talking about. In my collection, there are a couple of different Bugs.
Some of my knives have a smaller bug, like the Caly 3 and the LBKs, some have no bug, and others have a large bug. Of the large bug, there seem to be 2 variations. The first one (on my E4s and D4s) have stripes running across them. The second one, on the Sage, has the stripes that curve in, continuing the shape of the legs through the body. You have to look very carefully to see it though. Well spotted!

Hi All,
It has been a while since I've posted to the forums, I've been flat out at the moment. I haven't stopped building my collection of Spydies though:D. Thought y'all might appreciate some pictures of some of my purchases over the last year or so.

There you have it. That's all with the exception of a black blade Delica combo edge (which is packed in my vehicle emergency kit).
Sorry if the photos were dodgy, I was using my new light box and haven't got the diffuser working properly. Plus, dropping the resolution to get a smaller file size doesn't help either (lol, excuses excuses).

I thought I'd add a few more pics of the Manix 2, because I think it is a great design. It is the latest acquisition, my girlfriend got it for me for my birthday.
I was actually pretty surprised by it. It is a high quality item (as all Spydies are) and is incredibly sturdy/solid/strong. I was expecting it to be a bit more delicate, possibly like the Caly 3. A pleasant surprise! I really like Eric's designs, not too sure what's in the pipeline but I'd be keen to see more.

Yeah, you're right, the WB is off and underexposed. I'm still playing around with getting things right. The light isn't diffused enough and I haven't quite got the settings right on the new camera. Still, I actually like the warmth of the last few Poliwog shots.
