How strong in what respect? Tensile strength? Impact strength?

there are different grades of G10, but... as far as i can tell, it's about as strong as anything. it's used in the mili, lil temp, manix -- 'nuff said.
seriously -- tough stuff! and it stays grippy for a long time... :D

It would be bloody strong enough :D. Stronger than you can feasibly test it with real life situations at least. Don't see if it can re-enter the atmosphere though :p It can probably re-enter someone repeatedly, and would withstand a truck rolling over it. But the knife mechanisms would most likely have failed before the G10 does.

I'm thinking in both. I don't know a whole lot about G-10??? The majority of my spydie collection is all SS. I have 2 spydies that are G-10 ....the Mini Manix which is a BEAST and the Caly 3, but both have the full SS liners. I hava the Byrd Flight, again full SS liners. I did have our Knifebro potterma make some AWSOME Black/Yellow handles for my MULE ....Looks Awsome. That's about the extent of my G-10 knowledge. I've never really EDCed a G-10 knife and was curious. Thanks for listening. Take Good Care and Be Safe Always.

raven,
From personal experience Spyderco G10 is very good compared to the blue weave G10 I have in a Paramilitary. I can sense and see the scales compress on that one. On the others that I have tried, no give. Even my textured UKPK I could not feel any flex. And the UKPK has no liner. If you want to try one as an edc let me know. I have a used UKPK or DKPK I'd let you try for a while, if you want. Almost Identical to the C3 in all dimension.

I wonder at what temp it burns?
I wonder how difficult it would be to break a Military handle in half.
I think that stuff is just insane strong.

There are several makers selling G-10 impact devices and a few selling G-10 "knives." It is pretty strong stuff. You can drive a Chevy Suburban over a G-10 handled Spyderco and have no damage except for some scratches to the handle (don't ask how I know this--Guntings are tough:eek: ). Can it break--sure. Will it break--probably not. Personally, this brings to mind the warranty that Ernest Emerson gives for his tomahawk handles--to paraphrase--"Whatever broke it probably killed you. If you survive, we will fix your broken handle."
