Hi Tanto, welcome to the forum.

As well as being quite strong FRN has a little springiness to it, which means it should withstand impact very well.

Hope you like it, it's a great little knife.

Tanto,

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum!

The FRN handles are quite strong indeed! You should have no problems with them. I'm not really sure what you mean by "hard impact", but the FRN will definately hold up. Spydercos warranty covers general problems, ie defect not misuse. They stand behind their products. I doubt you will ever have a problem it!
Enjoy your new Spydeco, it won't be your last !

Tanto,

Welcome. Not only is the FRN handle material on this knife strong and durable, but this design is fabulous. You made an excellent choice, in my opinion. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Tanto.
I've used Hennie Haynes myself, they provide a very good service and are as cheep as anywhere else in the UK. Their only downside is that the range they supply is a little limited.
Edgar Brothers (Tel : 01625 613177) are the main Spyderco distributor in the UK. Being a wholesaler they will not be able to sell direct to you, but they will be able to tell you who your nearest supplier is.

However, if you are tight on money you might want to think about ordering from abroad.
Average price of a G-10 Police model in the UK = £112
Average price of the same knife in USA = £68 ($99)

I have found http://www.knifecenter.com/ to be very good, and they label the packages so that they usually avoid VAT.
I say "usually" avoid, because with my experience with Customs and Excise they tend to decide on a whim.

Good luck.

Yep, this is a very international forum. There are about a dozen Brits around here, possibly more that haven't put UK in their profile.

First post and he's already got the Spydie virus , don't worry it IS contegious

As for ordering from the States, I've ordered from 3 companies www.knifecenter.com , www.bladeart.com , and one other I can't remember. They have all provided very good service and are more than willing to talk about knives in general before you buy. Delivery time is usually between 10-14 days (the wait can seem a lifetime when you have a particularly nice item on order ), they all seem to take VISA, so no payment problems. Shipping usually works out to around $6-$8 for normal international post.
The only possible downside is VAT and import tax. I have been stung with this before and it can be in the order of 17.5% of the items value + £20. Luckily it seems as though knives may be excempt, at least when ordered through the two companies I listed above. In my experience couriour services like UPS and FED-EX (but not regular international post) declair VAT and import tax owing on your behalf (how nice ) even if the item is really excempt.

Another option might be E-bay. Make sure it is the American site (www.ebay.com) and not the UK site (www.ebay.co.uk), as the American site usually have 5-6 pages of Spydercos (a good place for rare Spydercos), but I have yet to see one on the UK site.
You can sometimes get them a touch cheeper here, the down side is that not everyone will ship outside the US, and some cannot take VISA, but if not they do except money orders (available from all banks for a small fee).
