Hello all,

I am new to this forum although I have lurked around here for a short time. I have a question for Mr. Janich (or anyone with a good answer) regarding EDC knives that mesh with the MBC concept and are lefty-friendly.

I have tried quite a few knives over the years and have always been impressed with the Spyderco Endura that has the stainless scales. The left-handed version with the synthetic scales is almost impossible for me to open quickly. What would you recommend?

Thanks in advance,

Tom Christy

P.S. Mr. Janich, I'm looking forward to meeting you at the MBC 1 & 2 seminar coming up in a few weeks.

Dear Tom:

Thanks for your post.

The FRN-handled Endura and Delica are my favorite left-hand knives because of the ease with which the clip can be switched. For MBC use, I find the stainless-handled Endura a bit slippery.

I'm not sure what problem you are encountering in getting your FRN Endura open quickly, but I think addressing that skill would provide a better solution than switching knives -- at least as a first option. If there is some other issue that affects your use of the Endura, a Delica or Native might be a better bet.

I'm glad you'll be attending the upcoming MBC classes. We can address this issue in detail then and hopefully come up with a good solution for your personal needs. Please bring your FRN Endura along so we can make sure it is "healthy" and not creating any unusual problems.

Thanks again for your question.

Stay safe,

Mr. Janich,

Thanks for your reply. The main problem that I have experienced seems to be with the weight of the FRN Endura when attempting to open it one-handed (w/ the so-called &quot;Spydie drop&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>. I'm sure that proper training will solve the problem and will make sure to bring the Endura along!

Thanks again,
