What is your preferred way to attach such items as an AAA light, Ladybug, etc. to your keychain? Looking for ideas and suggestions to minimize bulk. I already have an Arc attached with a split ring and am adding a LB 3 as soon as it gets here.

I have a similar setup. I'll post pics when I get home. That's the best way to show you.

I know, kinda cheesy, but since I lack sufficient lanyard making skills, I will sometimes use ball chain. I just cut off the necessary length, and attach it to the desired item. Plain and boring, but effective:

I use little lobster claw clips like you'd find at Berkeley Point.

It is a little bit bulky, but I like the personal touch, and it does start conversations! :D (Though not as much as what I wear on my wrist all day...)

Sorry for the bad lighting, I'm shooting in my basement, where the lighting is akin to a cave. :p

Congrats on your 1,000 posts, Blackhair. By the way, are those rings titanium?

I know some people use these kinds of things for a small knife such as the Ladybug. There are lots of things like this. This one is just a pic I was able to find without actually knowing what to call them. With this, you can easily remove the knife to use it. I have used them for other things on my key chain, as I don't have any LBKs (as of yet).

On a side note: Nice chain mail type stuff you've got there Blackhair. I did a bit of that myself a few years ago. I made a guitar strap that I still use today. And on a side note of a side note: Congratz on the 1k posts!

Thanks for the kind words, folks. :D
Actually, Jay_Ev, the rings are Stainless Steel. Titanium is way too expensive, and I hate the feel of aluminum. :p

I have a ladybug and a Swiss-key on my keychain. The LBK is attached with a small lanyard like rope, simple with just two single knots. The swiss key just attatches between my regular keys (I only have 4). It's really compact and handy, and I usually hang the LBK over the top of my pocket so my keys are right on top. I've never had them fall out either.

I often use small black zip ties in place of, or in addition to, split rings. They're not pretty but they are light, quiet and easily replaceable.

It is chainmail. :)
There are many many more variations of chainmail than the basic type that you see in movies. :D
I've thought about making a vest, but haven't gotten around to it due to the time and effort that would be involved. Plus the fact that if I look at it from a purely profit-based view, it's more worth my time to just make smaller pieces of jewelry.
However, I have been thinking about making a vest just for the heck of it. Partly so that I can say I have when people ask, and partly just because I kinda want to. :D

I use a similar thingy I found at the local hardware store. I keep knives on one ring, keys on the other, so if I know I will be entering a place with a 'no pointy objects' sign it's quick and easy to detach the knives and throw them in the glove box...the knives in question are a Spyderco SE FRN Ladybug and purple mini SAK. :D

Hi, George!
Don't quote me, 'cause I really don't remember for sure, but I believe I picked them up at a General Tool store or similar place:o I got the smaller ones they had, which are about 1.5" long. Some in black and some in a semi gun metal/silvery finish. They are very handy and easy on the $$$.
Best regards

I use a Maxpedition Keyper to organise my LBKs (Ladybug usually) as well as keys to the PO Box (highly essential :p), and my other keys.
On occasion I use those quick-release keyrings as posted by Spyderwings.
I'll see if I can get around to taking some pics a bit later.

I got a Flex-o-Loc cable keyring several years ago at a local lockshop and it works beautifully. It is a perfect replacement for a large split ring as it allows all the keys to lay flat against each other. I wondered about the security at first, but it has not loosened up or moved a bit. Theyre cheap too, I think I gave maybe $2 for mine.

I put it firmly in the things that work list along with Spydies, JB Weld, G-Shocks, and baling wire.
