The Military is one of my favorite knives, and yesterday I got one with ats-34 and the old two screw clip. The knife is perfect except the handles are faded, and have a somewhat white appearance to them. Maybe a display model or age, I don't know. Anyone know if there is something I can put on them to restore the original look? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff.

John F Jensen gave me the following tip - Rub some WD40 on the G10 handles and they should be as good as new...<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I used Militec=1, the same lube I use for my knives. My Renegade had a bit of that fading in its G10 handles. It looks evenly black now.

I just used a toothbrush with a very small amount of the Militec-1 which I also apply to the blade and then let it sit for an hour, then wipe clean. Its a synthetic oil and does not attract dirt or lint. Although you might find the handle a bit slicker due to its adhering properties.

Disguised as a responsible adult.

Thanks for the ideas. I have WD40, so I'll try that first.

I wanted to thank Hy and Chinook for the ideas. I scrubbed the handles with some WD40 and a toothbrush, then applied Flitz to the blade, clip, and screws. Looks factory fresh. Well almost. Thanks again. Jeff

I use my knife oil mix of mineral oil with a dash of clove oil (for that nice smell). I use this for lubrication and rust prevention; it's food grade too.

By chance I found that it does a great job of what you are asking about too. Makes G-10 just gleam.
