Quit almost four years ago, after smoking for over 40 years. The last 10 or so of those I rolled my own, mostly Drum, and smoked about a can a week of it.

I quit when cigarettes hit fifty cents a pack. Too many other things to spend that much money on.

When in the States, I smoke either Camel Filter or Pall Mall. At home I roll No.7 tobacco in Players Light tubes.

I guess we're the new lepers, us smokers. I've smoked since I was a teenager and although I do want to quit as I have a three year old son who I'm madly in love with, it's very very hard to do it. So right now I smoke American Spirit full flavors or whatever is in their yellow pack, it's free of the other horrible chemicals that are added to tobacco, so ya just get the bad tobacco part.
Cheers,
Rob

Bro take your biggest Spydie/Military, perhaps, or a Civilian, will do just fine and slaughter the nicotine beast.
The above mentioned will defeat boredom and you will be gasping clean fresh air after killing the nicotine beast.

No not lepers; just drug addicts.

I roll my own:

"Zware Vanelle" it's strong, dark tobacco.

The say it's less harmful than the light tobacco's

When I smoked, I smoked Camel Wide Lights and or Marlboro Medium.

It has been almost 8 years since I quit smoking. I smoked for 20+ years.

I quit over two years ago w/ the help of Welbutrin, if it is an option for you I'd definitely check it out. I can't source these stats because I can't remember where I got them but they went something like this:

out of 100 people who attempt to quit approx 1 make it on the first try

w/ welbutrin approx 40 make it on the first try, 60 on the 2nd.

After my first try I cut down to about 8 a day for over a year.. on the second try I nailed that nasty habit.

It makes a big difference, it doesn't kill the craving but it does kill the reward mechanism.. ah but then I was hooked on welbutrin which can be a real bitch to shake, just taper down slow... I think it was worth messing w/ my brain chemistry for awhile to give my lungs a break.

not for everyone but may have saved my life... welbutrin is in its own class, not to be confused w/ zoloft or prozac, it actually enhances libido and may cause some weight loss, polar opposite of other SSRI's in that way, it also energizes rather than cause drowsiness.

When I was smoking.. American Spirit blues or yellows.. Winston Lights too.. don't under estimate those added ingredients, some of them are downright evil, worse than any natural plant matter.

599 additives: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_additives_in_cigarettes

One of the additives: ammonium sulfide

The common "stink bomb" consists of a solution of ammonium sulfide in water, sealed inside a glass ampoule. When the glass is broken, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide gases, both of which have a powerful unpleasant smell, are released from the solution.

Can't go wrong with Marlboro Reds if you ask me... suicide has never been tastier. Of course, I just got out of BCT where there was no smoking whatsoever... and smoking provides me with substantially less pleasure than it used to. I am considering just calling it a loss and devoting myself completely to my incorrigible gum habit.

As for the additives, better living through chemistry I say. :-P
