Awaiting my "matriarch" C 12BK [Archive]

I recently placed an order with 1SKS

for the C 12BK "matriarch" and can't wait

for it's delivery. i am just curious though, If not for general utility ( as

the tip is rather volitile ) is the

primary use for "self defense" ? Wouldn't

slashing with this implement cause the

tip to break ? ( and possilbly void the

warranty ? )

Hi Allen,

The knife is intended for self-protection only.

I think it unlikely that the tip would break after a couple of swipes (enough to get away from trouble), but even if it did and you escaped the baddies, then the knife served its purpose.

About that Matriarch from 1SKS: Is it really the current model Matriarch? If so, how do they sell it for $49 instead of the $75-90 other vendors get for this model? I want a Matriarch, but have hesitated jumping at this one because it seems too good to be true.

I asked this of 1SKS and they haven't replied...
