Another one that needs a review...
It's been in and out of rotation a couple times since I got it.
Specs as per Chad's Page (http://www.clbdesign.info/content/view/40/101/)
* Overall Length (inches): 8 3/16"
* Blade Length (inches): 3 5/8"
* Blade Material: 440C Steel
* Weight: 4.6 oz.
* Handle Material: G10
* Carry System: Clip
Clip: 9.5/10
tip up/down clip, black clip on a black handle. Low ride clip, set in just slightly from the edge. Helps to give a little bit more to grab. The thumbstud also aids on the retention. requiring a little more effort on both drawing and returning (not quite a smooth draw).
Handle/Ergos:10/10
Full 4 finger grip, nice and secure, no hotspots. Could be a bit thicker at the end, but it works as is. Tip control is quite natural.
Lock: 7/10
Flicks open quite nicely, locks up rock solid just shy of the 1/3rd mark. Nice balance on the detent (encourages flicking for a quick opening). Only gripe is the stiffness on the lock. Can only close it with my thumb a couple times before it gets red. For something that is only used a couple times a day, it's not such an issue, but of course for testing it becomes the primary knife for a few days before being complimented with a left carry... so my thumb got sore enough that I ended up using 2 hands to close it.
Blade/Edge: 10/10
Recurve, spydie-style serrations, full tip control... what's not to love? It made quick work of packages at work Again, still a shaving sharp edge, but I haven't gone after a pile of cardboard yet.
Overall:36.5/40 (91.25%)
I'm spoiled with the hole. Not used to having to rotate to make a smooth draw/replacement. I used this guy as my primary carry for a week before pairing it up. As such, the stiff liner lock stood out as the only real fault. When it was out, it was open fast and secure. Just really hard to use it left handed (which makes a difference when I have knives laying on the table all the time and just grab one to use).
For a hard use knife, just as much at home in the yard as the kitchen, this is a great knife. Rope, packages, tape... just don't get a finger in the way.
Well worth grabbing at least one, if to even toss in your jacket (you'll be surprised how often you use em there).
