i was recently talking with my pal from down under, i think he has a thread on here with a few pics:p. well he was talking about getting some fixed :spyder: blades for his grilling needs. i told him he needed a temperance, i think it is my sharpest spydie and so comfortable to hold and use. i had one in my kitchen until i filled up the wooden block with the regular spyderco kitchen knives. i figure with a little prodding we can force Dan over the edge to where he must just have one....so post up your pics and tell us how much you love the temperance.

Great pics.

They look so weird however without a hole and a Spyder on the blade. ;)

Yeah, I agree. They look like awesome (VG10) blades. Where's the Spydie hole?:p

Well, i don't have any pic's but i can certainly stand behind the Temperance.
I have one on kitchen duty, and i tell you it's one mean cutter!
I've been using it for a lot of different tasks and it's a great knife!

Damn you Tony :p

You are really testing my patience :D and my Paypal account. As with our conversations, my BBQ and kitchen needs at present include a Shun Santoku which my wife absolutely loves..... she loved it so much she dropped it and took the tip off  !!! So, no more piercing tasks, just laser slicing.... however, as per our convos Tony I have found a lack of cutting tools for my BBQ duties and have felt a strong need to get my first FB Spyderco, and the list we were talking about did include:
Temperance
Street Beat
Rock Salt (for those big Aussie croc steaks and roo fillets :p)

I have been looking at those as well as Bill Morans and a couple of the Salts. I'd probably be inclined to go with a small to medium utility and the Temp looks really nice

I hope no-one else here posts any more tempting pictures of Spyderco fixed blades suitable for BBQ duties.... I mean, we don't really want me to get introuble with the wife do we ?;):p

Mule. Thats your cheapest, and IMO sharpest option.

I'm not into the fixed blades yet, but that's a great looking grip... would be interested to see that on a folder (even if it made the knife a bit 'fat')...

Hey Jarhead,
Temps pop up on eBay from time to time. Theres actually 2 listed right now.

If you don't see what you like, search "Spyderco Temperance", then Click "Save this Search" next to were its says 2 Items found for.....
eBay will then email you when a newly listed Temp pops up.

(Sorry if you already know this, dont want to seam condescending)
Thanks

PS... the Temp is a great knife, I wish I wouldn't have sold mine... i feel sick. It was such a sturdy, beefy knife, felt like you really had SOMETHING on your side when you had it in your hand....

I really love my Temperances. The Trainer used to get a lot of work, now the Pe version does most of the cutting. I really like the handle design on this one. The blade is like a full sized Caly jr, in terms of geometry and performance. I'm looking forward to the larger fighter version, that Sal is at least thinking about making. ;)

Very nice shots there, I just got my Temperance back, sold her in a moment
of weakness, needed money, there ya go...but, as luck would have it, I was
able to retrieve the same one back from my friend

I'm just not overly fond of the smoothness of the handle, even dry it is a bit
slippery, I'm contemplating having the handle removed and something else,
g10 maybe, mortised onto the tang

anyone have a shot showing how the tang looks?

A while back someone took an X-ray of the tang, to show that it is in fact a partial tang, it protrudes about 1/3 of the way into the handle. I'll see if I can find that thread, but I'm not optimistic about my skills with the search function, as I'm very much out of practice.

Thank you sir:cool: Seems my memory was a bit fuzzy, that tang goes about halfway through the handle, not a third.
