Tell already! The excitement is killing me!

The phrase "evil woman" comes to mind.

Hmmmm, according to my calculations, Watson, I would have to deduce that the Noble Kahz has bought herself the famed Bob Lum Chinese Folder. I don't know if I would go as far as to say that it would be in the 'gun-metal blue' series, but I would surely place willing bet that it is the Lum. Why do I think this?

* Notice that she has mentioned Clay's name. Isn't he the "Chinese Folder King"?

* AND didn't Hoosierdaddy and Lsaulog just get their own Chinese Folders?

Ahh, this case is indeed a steamy one, but I believe that we just might have wrapped up yet another case, Watson....

So Kahz, am I close?? I might be way out of line in my deductions, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

OMG!!!! This is what happens while an "innocent" woman goes out to a bookstore to have some coffee and read books for free???? Geez, people...

I really was at a Borders being a cheap-o, but well, you all asked for it. Here are a few points I want to make clear:

1. Everyone is to blame, everyone in this forum for having "pushed me" to buy this knife. Oh, and thanks, btw, great suggestion, expecially since it's discontinued.
2. Clay is always to blame for everything, no matter what.
3. I AM evil.
4. The Chinese Folder comes AFTER the book.
5. I still have not bought the book.
6. The Santoku comes AFTER the Chinese Folder.
7. Have you noticed how many times my "next to buy" list has changed? LMAO! But the Folder is the next knife after the book, thanks to who? Clay, of course, he is to blame, always.
8. Sharp1, I like the Kahzmaster idea!
9. This knife will most likely NOT cause another convenience store incident.
10. It has been going around the forum for the last week and a half or so...
11. I forgot what this number was for...
12. Wow, I am already in 12?
13. This is an unlucky number, so I will not use it.
14. Clay has not responded, I bet he is looking for a kangaroo bag to send me.
15. This is half of 30.
16. This is 8 x 2.
17. This is a prime number.
18. Voting age in many countries.
19. Last of the teens.
20. I am LMAO, I think I've had too much caffeine today and you all crack me up.

So, peer pressure, right Hoosier? What's the knife that keeps coming up in conversations, that just got discontinued, that people just "never got it", that is an extension of the hand, and that resembles the Dragonfly?

I got mine in SE, and I am amazed at the design. I know, I didn't break the bank too much, it's inexpensive, but definitely not "cheap". Well worth the money I paid for it, John F. Jensen has excellent service, btw. Once I have had the chance to actually use it in real life, not just play with it, I will post my review.

I assume you all know which knife I am talking about now, right? Can we get an emote with an evil face now, Sal???? Hee, hee, hee... *evil grin*

Hy,

You are correct! Yes, Calypso Jr. Lwt. SE in all it's fishy-scaled glory. VERY cool fish scales on the handles, btw.

I am so proud of my new knife... *lovingly admiring her new knife*

Wonderful choice, Kahz!

I am happy for you. I also can sleep in peace tonight!
I also enjoy using my SE Calypso Jr. It is my new EDC. It is SO nice for daily carry I can't seem to put it down. Tonight I even got my third cut with it. Yes, I was playing with it while I was watching the "Red Corner", [with Richard Grere] when I accidently dropped it on my ankle and it made a nice slice right above the joint. Ouchie!
Chalk up one more SpyderBite!

Enjoy your new toy!

Great choice Kahz, although I think you now need a PE to go with it. On second thought just make sure the Chinese Folder is PE.
quote:
Clay has not responded, I bet he is looking for a kangaroo bag to send me.

Actually I'm just sick of being blamed for everything so I'm not going to hang around here much anymore . No, just pulling your leg, although I may not be around as much over the next few months (years). I started building a 15' sailing skiff years ago but haven't done any work on it for the past 3 or 4 years. Now I've got the bit between my teeth again and plan to get it finished before next Christmas, so most of my free time will be spent out in the shed up to my elbows in wood dust and epoxy. If you don't see me here I'll probably be over at rec.boats.building .

Take care,
Clay

Clay,

Please don't be absent too much, your posts are always a joy to read. I will get the Folder in PE once I go get it. Good luck with your project!

Yep seconded, you also need the PE version.

I picked up my PE Calypso Jnr when someone mentioned over at blade forums that they were able to shave somebodys head at a party with the Calypso Jnr straight out the box(wild party ?).
But they were right. Straight from the box the Calypso Jnr is shaving sharp. Well at least arm hair, I haven't tried going bold yet

Kahz...

This thread was great fun! Thanks!

I really like the calypso jr too... beautiful, fits my hand great, and cuts wonderfully. It's my first tip down knife though, and I'm trying to get used to it. So - I just bought a native as a tip up replacement for my long lost delica.

Enjoy!

Clay, Yog, so I need a PE Calypso Jr.???? *looking worried* Well, it will just have to wait a while. Meanwhile, I will enjoy this teethy friend. I have to admit, I like this blade even better than my teethed Remote Release (although I still find this one to be a cool knife)... I think I am in love...

La Benge, KEWL! Another girl! I had seen you around but I never knew that you are a woman. Glad to have more on the forum. The Native is a cool knife, and so is the Calypso. I am amazed at how many designs Spyderco has, and how different they all feel. Even though I don't find the Native SS to be uncomfortable, I can feel the difference with the Calypso Jr. I have been playing with it since I got it yesterday and it is much more ergonomically designed. Now I don't know if I should switch EDC's for a while (well, my Mouse always remains in that status, but how about the others?) Shall I allow the Dragonfly and Native to rest and carry the Calypso Jr. for a while???? Decisions, decisions...

Hoosierdaddy,

Sounds promising, can you expand on the idea? The only problem I can foresee is, since it's always my fault anyway, everybody's going to get most of the answer right: "Clay with the Chinese Folder in the......."

BTW... congrats. on the new Calypso jr.
I've had my eye on his bigger brother, but I'm a bit "nude" (Kiwi for broke) Aren't Kiwis always broke? Sorry Clay I hope you're not Kiwi! When I get more "dosh" I'll "shout" for the Calypso

Bravo, Kahz,
The perfect choice! My EDC is the Calypso Jr. Micarta, SE. How could they discontinue this; the acme, the pinnacle, the apex of folders? Sensual in the hand.
Abrazos.
