What is your dream knife? I would like a vg-10 flat ground blade, CF handle, large spyderhole, stainless steel clip, compression lock, and a Boyde lock dent.

Bought myself a black micarta Calypso Jr last saturday. It's divine. However, what do you guys prefer, a plain edge or a serrated edge?

For me it depends on the type of use whether or not I will have a PE or SE. My PE knives are nice and sharp, but I still prefer SE at times.

I have just traded for a Temperance and have found it to be the best of all of the Spyderco features combined into one knife.
My ultimate small knife would be a Calypso Jnr with a plain black G-10 handle, the handle to be 0.3" longer at the back for my pinky. Everything else on the knife is perfect.
My ultimate mid sized knife would ba a plain black G-10 Native, leave the Cpm-440v, but add a compression lock.
I would alter the clip to the 3 screw variant and give it the option to be clip-up or clip-down.
My ultimate large knife would be the Large Calypso, no modifications for people who prefer a light carry.
Or a plain black G-10 verion (can you spot the pattern yet ?? <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> ) with dual steel liners and a slightly thicker blade for those that prefer a rugged grip and a bit of heft.

my ultimate dream knife would be a larger size merlin/harpy... g10 and stainless handles point up clip...i dont know anything about steel but i assume vg-10 is better then ats-55 and a blade about 4 inches long with the option of plain or serrated...i know, i know for knives that size they got civilians but the talon shaped blade appeals to me more then reverse s blades and then theres the fragile non utility tip to consider. in my own personal opinion i think that jumbo sized merlin/harpys would be a better alternative to people like myself whos budgets forbid a civilian or who likes the talon better then reverse s or to those who need a larger utility knife. would somebody with a louder voice then mine pleeeeease pass this idea on? i think itd be a winner. anyway...thats my dream knife.

would never need sharpening.
would never cut the user or his friends or family.
would never show wear.
could not be lost.
could be easily found at night.
would have a blade that adapted to use, plainedged or serrated or spear clip or sheeps foot, just whatever you needed at the time.
when not needed for cutting, would turn into a six-pack or an attractive member of the opposite sex.

Maybe a CF Salsa with a shiny ss clip(not wire).

The Spyderco Moran FB02 is pretty much perfect for me, great balance, performance, and feel for just about every chore I throw at it; now I'm just waiting for its folding equivalent in the lil Temperance (and of course the Fred Perrin collaborations look really appealing).
